انفجارات عنيفة.. والجيش السوداني يتصدى لمسيرات في أم درمان

The ground defenses of the Sudanese army confronted drones flying over the city of Omdurman. Sudanese sources and eyewitnesses confirmed hearing explosions in various parts of the city, amid intense drone activity in the skies over the capital, Khartoum.
Sources reported that violent, successive explosions were heard north of Omdurman today (Wednesday), coinciding with the flight of drones. They added that plumes of smoke rose from the explosion sites, and the ground defenses of the Sudanese army intercepted the drones.
The attack on Omdurman (one of the three cities of the capital along with Khartoum and Khartoum North) comes about 24 hours after similar aerial offensive operations in the Al-Dabba area in northern Sudan, where local sources reported that the area was attacked by strategic drones, resulting in the deaths of 5 people and targeting the College of Engineering. This followed similar drone strikes yesterday (Tuesday) in the Ad Babaker area east of Khartoum, which resulted in the deaths of two people and injuries to two others.
Sudanese military sources revealed the destruction of several Rapid Support Forces headquarters in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur.
Sudan has entered a spiral of devastating war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since mid-April 2023, resulting in the deaths of more than 20,000 people and the displacement and refugee crisis affecting over 15 million, according to United Nations data, while a study conducted by American universities estimated the death toll at around 130,000. The war has forced millions of Sudanese to flee, while hunger spreads across most parts of the country.
The conflict in Sudan has led to a division of areas of influence, with the army controlling the north and east of the country, while the Rapid Support Forces control most of the Darfur region in the west and parts of the south.
