دخلت الأزمة السياسية في مدغشقر منعطفاً بالغ الخطورة، بعد إعلان الرئيس أندري راجولينا أنه في مكان آمن إثر ما وصفه بـ«محاولة اغتيال».
وفي أول كلمة له منذ انضمام عسكريين للمحتجين في نهاية الأسبوع، أطل رئيس مدغشقر أندريه راجولينا أمس (الإثنين) عبر بثّ مباشر من خلال «فيسبوك» وقال إنه في «مكان آمن» وحضّ على «احترام الدستور»، في حين تشهد البلاد منذ أسابيع مظاهرات مناهضة للحكومة.
وأضاف راجولينا أن «السبيل الوحيد لحل هذه المشكلات هو احترام الدستور»، رافضاً تلبية دعوات تطالبه بالتنحي تطلقها الحركة الاحتجاجية التي تشهدها منذ 25 سبتمبر الجزيرة الفقيرة الواقعة في المحيط الهندي.
ووفق إذاعة فرنسا الدولية «آر إف إي»، استقلّ راجولينا يوم الأحد «طائرة عسكرية فرنسية متجهة إلى جزيرة لا ريونيون، قبل أن يغادر إلى وجهة أخرى مع عائلته».
وفي مصر، قال الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون رداً على سؤال بهذا الصدد «لا أؤكد شيئاً اليوم»، معرباً عن «قلق كبير» حيال مدغشقر.
وراجولينا الذي فاز في 2023 بولاية رئاسية جديدة مدتها خمس سنوات في انتخابات قاطعتها المعارضة، اتهم «مجموعة من العسكريين والسياسيين» بالسعي لقتله.
وأُرجئ خطاب راجولينا أكثر من مرة أمس بسبب دخول «مجموعة من الجنود المسلحين» مقر التلفزيون الرسمي الذي لم يبثّ الكلمة في نهاية المطاف.
وأوضح الرئيس «اضطُررت لإيجاد مكان آمن لحماية حياتي اليوم. في كل ما يجري، لم أتوقف يوماً عن البحث عن حلول». ولفت إلى أنه لا يُكنّ «ضغينة» للضالعين في «محاولة اغتياله»، وشدّد على أنه منفتح على «حوار للخروج من هذا الوضع».

In his first address since military personnel joined the protesters over the weekend, Madagascar's President Andry Rajoelina appeared yesterday (Monday) via a live broadcast on "Facebook" and stated that he is in a "safe place," urging respect for the constitution, while the country has been witnessing anti-government protests for weeks.
Rajoelina added that "the only way to resolve these issues is to respect the constitution," rejecting calls for his resignation from the protest movement that has been ongoing since September 25 in the impoverished island located in the Indian Ocean.
According to Radio France Internationale (RFI), Rajoelina boarded a "French military plane heading to Réunion Island on Sunday, before departing to another destination with his family."
In Egypt, French President Emmanuel Macron, in response to a question on the matter, said, "I cannot confirm anything today," expressing "great concern" regarding Madagascar.
Rajoelina, who won a new five-year presidential term in 2023 in an election boycotted by the opposition, accused "a group of military personnel and politicians" of attempting to kill him.
Rajoelina's speech was postponed several times yesterday due to the entry of "a group of armed soldiers" into the premises of the state television, which ultimately did not broadcast the address.
The president explained, "I had to find a safe place to protect my life today. In everything that is happening, I have never stopped looking for solutions." He noted that he holds no "grudge" against those involved in the "assassination attempt" and emphasized that he is open to "dialogue to get out of this situation."
