توافد قادة ورؤساء الدول إلى شرم الشيخ للمشاركة في قمة السلام التي تُعقد، اليوم (الإثنين)، برئاسة مشتركة بين الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي ونظيره الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، بهدف إنهاء الحرب في قطاع غزة وتعزيز جهود السلام والاستقرار في الشرق الأوسط.
ومن بين الرؤساء والزعماء الذين وصلوا الرئيس التركي رجب أردوغان، وأمير قطر الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، والعاهل الأردني الملك عبدالله الثاني، والرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون، ورئيس الوزراء العراقي محمد شياع السوداني، ورئيسة الوزراء الإيطالية جورجا ميلوني، ورئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر.
مشاركة أكثر من 31 منظمة
ويشارك في القمة أكثر من 31 دولة ومنظمة إقليمية ودولية للاحتفال بالتوقيع على اتفاق وقف الحرب في قطاع غزة. وتعقد القمة تحت عنوان «قمة شرم الشيخ للسلام»، لإنهاء الحرب في قطاع غزة، وتعزيز جهود إحلال السلام والاستقرار في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
وتأتي القمة في أعقاب اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار الذي تم التوصل إليه أخيرا بين إسرائيل وحركة حماس، برعاية أمريكية، وبمشاركة قطر ومصر وتركيا.
وتشمل بنود الاتفاق وقف الحرب بشكل دائم، وتبادل الأسرى، وإدخال المساعدات الإنسانية إلى غزة، إضافة إلى تشكيل إدارة فلسطينية انتقالية لإدارة شؤون القطاع.
تثبيت التهدئة
ويُتوقع أن تُسهم القمة في تثبيت التهدئة وإطلاق مرحلة جديدة من إعادة الإعمار، بما يمهد لإحياء مسار السلام الشامل في المنطقة.
من جانب آخر، أعلن مكتب رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو أنه لن يشارك في القمة رغم الدعوة التي وجهها إليه الرئيس الأمريكي، مشيرًا إلى ضيق الوقت قبل عطلة يهودية.
وكان متحدث باسم الرئاسة المصرية، أعلن أن نتنياهو سيحضر القمة هو والرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس من أجل ترسيخ اتفاق وقف الحرب في غزة والتأكيد على الالتزام به. وأضاف أن نتنياهو وترمب أجريا اتصالا هاتفيا من إسرائيل اليوم مع الرئيس المصري عبدالفتاح السيسي.
وأعلن ترمب الخميس الماضي توصل إسرائيل وحماس، لاتفاق على المرحلة الأولى من خطته لوقف إطلاق النار وتبادل أسرى، إثر مفاوضات غير مباشرة بين الطرفين في شرم الشيخ، بمشاركة قطر وتركيا ومصر، وبإشراف أمريكي.
Leaders and heads of state have flocked to Sharm El-Sheikh to participate in the peace summit that is being held today (Monday), co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his American counterpart Donald Trump, with the aim of ending the war in the Gaza Strip and enhancing efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East.
Among the presidents and leaders who have arrived are Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Jordanian King Abdullah II, French President Emmanuel Macron, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Participation of More than 31 Organizations
More than 31 countries and regional and international organizations are participating in the summit to celebrate the signing of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. The summit is held under the title "Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit" to end the war in Gaza and enhance efforts for peace and stability in the Middle East.
The summit comes in the wake of the ceasefire agreement recently reached between Israel and Hamas, under American sponsorship, with the participation of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.
The terms of the agreement include a permanent cessation of hostilities, prisoner exchanges, and the introduction of humanitarian aid to Gaza, in addition to forming a transitional Palestinian administration to manage the affairs of the sector.
Establishing the Ceasefire
The summit is expected to contribute to establishing the ceasefire and launching a new phase of reconstruction, paving the way for reviving the comprehensive peace process in the region.
On another note, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he would not participate in the summit despite the invitation extended to him by the American president, citing time constraints before a Jewish holiday.
A spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency had announced that Netanyahu would attend the summit along with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to solidify the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and affirm commitment to it. He added that Netanyahu and Trump had a phone call from Israel today with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
Trump announced last Thursday that Israel and Hamas had reached an agreement on the first phase of his plan for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, following indirect negotiations between the two parties in Sharm El-Sheikh, with the participation of Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt, and under American supervision.
