قُتل 4 أشخاص وأُصيب 20 آخرون، بينهم 4 في حالة حرجة، في حادثة إطلاق نار صباح الأحد في مطعم على جزيرة سانت هيلينا، قبالة سواحل ولاية ساوث كارولاينا.
وأفاد مكتب قائد شرطة مقاطعة بوفورت بأن الحادثة وقعت في وقت مبكر من الصباح، وهرع العديد من الضحايا والشهود إلى المتاجر والمنازل القريبة طلباً للأمان.
وأضاف البيان: «إنها حادثة مأساوية وصعبة على الجميع، وتعاطفنا وصلواتنا مع الضحايا وأحبائهم».
ولم تُكشف بعد هويات القتلى والجرحى، فيما يواصل رجال الشرطة التحقيق في الواقعة.
Four people were killed and 20 others were injured, including 4 in critical condition, in a shooting incident on Sunday morning at a restaurant on Saint Helena Island, off the coast of South Carolina.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred early in the morning, and many victims and witnesses rushed to nearby stores and homes seeking safety.
The statement added: "It is a tragic and difficult incident for everyone, and our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones."
The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been revealed, while police continue to investigate the incident.
