كشفت مصادر حقوقية يمنية، وفاة أحد الموظفين في إحدى الوكالات الأممية في صنعاء جراء إصابته بذبحة صدرية نتيجة الخوف إثر الحملات الحوثية المستمرة ضد موظفي المنظمات الأممية.
وذكرت الشبكة اليمنية للحقوق والحريات أن الموظف في قسم تقنية المعلومات (IT) لدى المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين في صنعاء عبدالله الأكحلي توفي إثر ذبحة صدرية، بسبب حالة من الخوف والقلق الشديدين من احتمال اختطافه من قبل الحوثي، موضحة أن الحوثي يواصل شن حملة مداهمات واقتحامات لمنازل الموظفين اليمنيين العاملين في المجال الإنساني والوكالات الأممية والمنظمات الدولية.
قلق من الاعتقالات
وقالت الشبكة اليمنية للحقوق والحريات في بيان: نشعر بقلق بالغ لاستمرار حملة الاعتقالات والمداهمات من قبل جماعة الحوثي وتصعيدها الخطير ضد موظفي الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الإنسانية، في انتهاك صارخ لكل القوانين والمواثيق الدولية التي تكفل الحماية للعاملين في المجال الإنساني، معتبرة ما يتعرض له الموظفون الإنسانيون، خصوصا اليمنيين منهم، بات نهجا يعكس استخفاف جماعة الحوثي بالقانون الدولي الإنساني، وسعيها لفرض وصايتها على العمل الإنساني وتحويله إلى أداة للابتزاز والضغط السياسي.
ونددت الشبكة باستمرار الصمت الأممي الذي قالت إنه يشكل غطاء للجرائم الحوثية، ويقوض هيبة المنظمة الدولية ومصداقيتها، مطالبة الأمم المتحدة ووكالاتها بالتحرك العاجل لنقل جميع مكاتبها وموظفيها فورا إلى العاصمة المؤقتة عدن، وعدم ترك أي موظف، خصوصاً اليمنيين، في مناطق سيطرة الحوثي التي أصبحت بيئة غير آمنة وعدائية لعمل المنظمات الدولية.
الإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط
وحمّلت الشبكة الحوثيين المسؤولية الكاملة عن سلامة جميع المعتقلين، مجددة مطالبتها بالإفراج الفوري غير المشروط عن كامل المختطفين.
وكانت الأمم المتحدة أكدت اختطاف أكثر من 9 موظفين في عدد من وكالاتها في صنعاء من قبل جماعة الحوثي، بينهم ابنة نجل الرئيس اليمني السابق قحطان الشعبي وزوجها.
Yemeni human rights sources revealed the death of an employee at one of the UN agencies in Sana'a due to a heart attack resulting from fear caused by the ongoing Houthi campaigns against employees of international organizations.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms reported that the employee in the IT department of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Sana'a, Abdullah Al-Akhali, died from a heart attack due to extreme fear and anxiety over the possibility of being kidnapped by the Houthis. It explained that the Houthis continue to launch raids and incursions into the homes of Yemeni employees working in humanitarian fields and international organizations.
Concern Over Arrests
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms stated in a statement: We are deeply concerned about the ongoing campaign of arrests and raids by the Houthi group and its dangerous escalation against UN employees and humanitarian organizations, in a blatant violation of all international laws and treaties that guarantee protection for humanitarian workers. It considers what humanitarian employees, especially Yemenis, are facing to be a trend that reflects the Houthi group's disregard for international humanitarian law and its efforts to impose its guardianship over humanitarian work, turning it into a tool for extortion and political pressure.
The network condemned the continued UN silence, which it said serves as a cover for Houthi crimes and undermines the credibility and authority of the international organization. It called on the United Nations and its agencies to take urgent action to immediately relocate all its offices and employees to the temporary capital, Aden, and not to leave any employee, especially Yemenis, in Houthi-controlled areas that have become an unsafe and hostile environment for the work of international organizations.
Immediate and Unconditional Release
The network held the Houthis fully responsible for the safety of all detainees, reiterating its demand for the immediate and unconditional release of all abductees.
The United Nations had confirmed the kidnapping of more than 9 employees from several of its agencies in Sana'a by the Houthi group, including the daughter of former Yemeni President Qahtan Al-Shabi and her husband.
