شدد رئيس حزب القوات اللبنانية سمير جعجع على أنه «لا خيار» أمام حزب الله إلا أن يسلّم سلاحه إلى الدولة اللبنانية، داعيا إياه أن «يتعظ» من تجربة حركة حماس في قطاع غزة. وقال جعجع في مقابلة مع وكالة «فرانس برس» من مقرّه في بلدة معراب الجبلية شمال بيروت: «لا خيار لدى الحزب إلا أن يسلم سلاحه إلى الدولة اللبنانية، لأن ثمة دولة وهي أخذت القرار».
مزايدة مسؤولي الحزب
وأضاف: من المؤكد أن على حزب الله أن يتعظ مما يحدث حاليا مع حماس. هذا سبب إضافي لأن يسلّم سلاحه إلى الدولة في أقرب وقت ممكن، حرام إضاعة الوقت.
واتهم جعجع مسؤولي الحزب بأنهم يزايدون في الوقت الراهن برفضهم تسليم سلاحهم إلى الدولة التي وضعت في أغسطس خطة لنزع السلاح.
وقال: «لا أفهم كثيرا ما الذي يقومون به، وصراحة أكثر لم أفهم حرب الإسناد التي كانت واضحة إلى أين ستصل، ولم أفهم 7 أكتوبر. على أي أساس قاموا بهذه الخطوات وإلى أين وصلوا؟».
خارج اللعبة السياسية
ودعا جعجع الذي يشغل حزبه أكبر كتلة في البرلمان اللبناني، وسبق له أن سلّم سلاحه إلى الدولة اللبنانية بعد مشاركته في الحرب الأهلية (1975-1990)، السلطة ممثلة في رئيس الجمهورية جوزيف عون والحكومة أن تظهر «حزما» أكبر في تطبيق حصر السلاح بيد الدولة.
وأكد أن الحزب بمعارضته تسليم السلاح «يضع نفسه خارج اللعبة السياسية وخارج القانون، ويجعل نفسه وكأنه متمرد على الدولة»، مضيفا «هذا أمر يضعف موقفه ولا يقويه».
وكانت الحكومة اللبنانية قررت في أغسطس تجريد حزب الله من سلاحه، ووضع الجيش خطة من 5 مراحل لسحب السلاح، في خطوة سارع الحزب إلى رفضها، واصفا القرار بأنه «خطيئة».
Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea emphasized that "there is no option" for Hezbollah but to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state, urging it to "learn" from the experience of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Geagea said in an interview with Agence France-Presse from his headquarters in the mountainous town of Maarab north of Beirut: "The party has no choice but to hand over its weapons to the Lebanese state, because there is a state and it has made the decision."
Exploitation by Party Officials
He added: "It is certain that Hezbollah must learn from what is currently happening with Hamas. This is an additional reason for it to hand over its weapons to the state as soon as possible; it is a waste of time."
Geagea accused the party officials of exploiting the situation by refusing to hand over their weapons to the state, which laid out a plan for disarmament in August.
He said: "I don’t understand much of what they are doing, and frankly, I did not understand the support war that was clear about where it would lead, and I did not understand October 7. On what basis did they take these steps and where did they reach?"
Outside the Political Game
Geagea, whose party holds the largest bloc in the Lebanese parliament and had previously handed over its weapons to the Lebanese state after participating in the civil war (1975-1990), called on the authorities represented by President Joseph Aoun and the government to show "greater firmness" in enforcing the monopoly of weapons in the hands of the state.
He confirmed that by opposing the handover of weapons, the party "places itself outside the political game and outside the law, making itself appear as if it is rebelling against the state," adding, "This weakens its position and does not strengthen it."
The Lebanese government decided in August to strip Hezbollah of its weapons, and the army devised a five-phase plan for weapon withdrawal, a move that the party quickly rejected, describing the decision as a "sin."
