نجا رئيس الإكوادور دانيال نوبوا من محاولة اغتيال، بعدما تعرّض موكبه لإطلاق نار أثناء تحركه في مدينة غواياكيل الساحلية، وفق ما أعلنت السلطات، مؤكدة أن الرئيس بخير وأن قوات الأمن اعتقلت عدداً من المشتبه فيهم.
وتعرضت سيارة الرئيس الإكوادوري دانييل نوبوا لهجوم من قبل حشد ضخم يضم نحو 500 شخص، أثناء اقترابه من فعالية رسمية في مقاطعة كانيار.
وأفاد وزير كبير في الحكومة الإكوادورية بأن الحشد قام برشق السيارة بالحجارة، ما أدى إلى إصابة هيكل السيارة بأضرار، كما تم العثور لاحقاً على آثار ناجمة عن الرصاص على السيارة، وفقاً لوسائل إعلام.
وأضافت وزيرة البيئة والطاقة، إينيس مانزانو، أمس (الثلاثاء)، أنها تقدمت ببلاغ رسمي يصف الحادث بأنه محاولة اغتيال للرئيس، مؤكدة أن نوبوا لم يصب بأي أذى خلال الهجوم.
وأشار البيان الرسمي إلى أن السلطات تمكنت من اعتقال خمسة أشخاص على خلفية الحادث، فيما تواصل الأجهزة الأمنية التحقيق لمعرفة دوافع الهجوم وكشف جميع الملابسات المتعلقة بمحاولة الاعتداء على الرئيس الإكوادوري.
ويُعد نوبوا أحد أبرز الوجوه السياسية الصاعدة في أمريكا اللاتينية، إذ دخل التاريخ كأصغر رئيس للإكوادور عند توليه السلطة في نوفمبر 2023، وهو في الـ35 من عمره.
وكان نوبوا قد تعهد بـ«إنقاذ البلاد من تجار المخدرات المتحالفين مع عصابات إجرامية أجنبية»، في ظل تصاعد غير مسبوق في معدلات الجريمة المنظمة.
ينتمي الرئيس الشاب إلى عائلة سياسية واقتصادية نافذة، فهو نجل رجل الأعمال والسياسي المعروف ألفارو نوبوا، الذي خاض محاولات متكررة للوصول إلى سدة الحكم.

A senior government minister reported that the crowd threw stones at the vehicle, causing damage to its structure, and bullet marks were later found on the car, according to media reports.
Environment and Energy Minister Inés Manzano stated yesterday (Tuesday) that she filed an official report describing the incident as an assassination attempt on the president, confirming that Noboa was unharmed during the attack.
The official statement indicated that authorities managed to arrest five people in connection with the incident, while security agencies continue to investigate the motives behind the attack and uncover all circumstances related to the attempted assault on the Ecuadorian president.
Noboa is considered one of the prominent rising political figures in Latin America, having made history as the youngest president of Ecuador when he took office in November 2023 at the age of 35.
Noboa had pledged to "save the country from drug traffickers allied with foreign criminal gangs," amid an unprecedented rise in organized crime rates.
The young president comes from a powerful political and economic family, being the son of the well-known businessman and politician Álvaro Noboa, who made several attempts to reach the presidency.
