استغلال الوفاة لأغراض سياسية
وكشف الاستطلاع أن تقييم كيميل الإيجابي يبلغ 44% مقابل 41% سلباً، ما يمنحه ميزة صافية إيجابية بنسبة +3، بينما يحصل ترامب على 41% إيجاباً مقابل 54% سلباً، أي ميزة صافية -13، ما يعني تفوق كيميل بـ16 نقطة في الشعبية، وفقاً لنتائج الاستطلاع الذي أجري بعد عودة البرنامج إلى البث.

Exploiting Death for Political Purposes
The poll revealed that Kimmel's positive rating stands at 44% against 41% negative, giving him a net positive advantage of +3, while Trump receives 41% positive against 54% negative, resulting in a net disadvantage of -13, which means Kimmel surpasses Trump by 16 points in popularity, according to the results of the poll conducted after the show's return to air.
The story began on September 15, when Kimmel made sarcastic comments in his monologue about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, accusing MAGA supporters of trying to exploit the death for political purposes, describing Kirk as a "martyr" by Trump, who attended his memorial service, but the perpetrator was a liberal who harbored hatred for Kirk due to his conservative views.
Kimmel's comment sparked outrage from the far-right, and soon the FCC Chairman appointed by Trump, Brendan Carr, intervened, threatening to revoke ABC's (owned by Disney) broadcasting licenses if they did not take action against Kimmel, stating: "We can do this the easy way or the hard way."
ABC responded by suspending the show "indefinitely" on September 17, which sparked a storm of criticism regarding freedom of speech and infringement of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Trump welcomed the suspension, calling it "great news for America," and described Kimmel as "untalented" and "having poor ratings," threatening to sue ABC and Disney, considering the critical media coverage as "illegal contributions to election campaigns."
The suspension garnered widespread support from Hollywood, including over 400 stars like Jennifer Aniston and Meryl Streep signing a letter from the American Civil Liberties Union condemning the decision as a "dark moment for free speech."
