أتلف مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن اليوم (الخميس)، 3977 قطعة من الألغام والذخائر غير المنفجرة، وذلك في منطقة باب المندب بمحافظة تعز، غرب اليمن.
وجاءت هذه العملية بإشراف وتنفيذ فريق المهمات الخاصة الثاني التابع للمشروع، في إطار الجهود المستمرة لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة والذخائر غير المنفجرة التي تهدد حياة المدنيين التي زرعها الحوثيون.
وشملت المواد التي تم إتلافها 31 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، و28 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، بالإضافة إلى 39 قذيفة متنوعة، و22 عبوة ناسفة، إلى جانب 2139 طلقة متنوعة الأحجام، و1705 فيوز وصاعق. كما تم إتلاف 11 صاروخاً من أنواع مختلفة، وقنبلتين يدويتين.
وتأتي هذه العملية ضمن سلسلة من عمليات الإتلاف والتطهير التي ينفذها مشروع «مسام» في مختلف المحافظات اليمنية المحررة بهدف إزالة الألغام ومخلفات الحرب وتوفير بيئة آمنة ومستقرة للأهالي.
وساهمت جهود «مسام» حتى الآن في تطهير ملايين الأمتار المربعة من الأراضي اليمنية الملوثة، الأمر الذي أسهم بشكل كبير في إعادة الحياة والأمل إلى مناطق واسعة كانت تشكل تهديداً مباشراً على حياة المدنيين.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance in Yemen today (Thursday) destroyed 3,977 pieces of landmines and unexploded ordnance in the Bab al-Mandab area of Taiz Governorate, western Yemen.
This operation was supervised and executed by the second special tasks team affiliated with the project, as part of ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance that threaten civilian lives, planted by the Houthis.
The materials that were destroyed included 31 anti-tank mines, 28 anti-personnel mines, in addition to 39 assorted shells, 22 explosive devices, along with 2,139 rounds of various calibers, and 1,705 fuses and detonators. Additionally, 11 rockets of different types and two hand grenades were destroyed.
This operation is part of a series of destruction and clearance operations carried out by the "Masam" project in various liberated Yemeni governorates, aimed at removing mines and war remnants and providing a safe and stable environment for the residents.
The efforts of "Masam" have so far contributed to clearing millions of square meters of contaminated Yemeni land, significantly helping to restore life and hope to vast areas that posed a direct threat to civilian lives.
