دان بابا الفاتيكان البابا ليو، اليوم (الأحد)، التهجير القسري للمدنيين في غزة، في وقت كثّفت فيه إسرائيل حملتها العسكرية التدميرية في المدينة الرئيسية بالقطاع الفلسطيني.
وبحسب وكالة «رويترز» قال بابا الفاتيكان خلال صلاته الأسبوعية: «مع رعاة الكنائس في الأرض المقدسة، أكرر أنه لا مستقبل يُبنى على العنف والتهجير القسري والانتقام».
تنديد كنسي بالتهجير
وبرز دور البابا ليو، أول بابا من الولايات المتحدة، في الدعوة إلى السلام في غزة بشكل أكثر وضوحًا منذ قصف إسرائيل للكنيسة الكاثوليكية الوحيدة في القطاع في يوليو الماضي.
وأضاف بابا الفاتيكان «الشعوب بحاجة إلى السلام، ومن يحبونها حقًا يعملون من أجل السلام».
إغلاق معبر الكرامة
كان الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، أعلن اليوم (الأحد)، إغلاق معبر الكرامة شرق الضفة الغربية المحتلة أمام حركة المسافرين القادمين والمغادرين وذلك بعد ساعات من إعلان السلطة الفلسطينية فتحه.
تهجير سكان غزة
واقتحمت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي مدينة الخليل (جنوبي الضفة الغربية) المحتلة اليوم، وبحسب وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية (وفا) فإن قوات الاحتلال اقتحمت عددا من الأحياء ومحيط الحرم الإبراهيمي الشريف، واعتقلت مدنيا بعد مداهمة وتفتيش منزل ذويه.
عزل 3 قرى بالقدس
من جهة أخرى، أعلنت إسرائيل اليوم، عزل 3 قرى شمال غرب مدينة القدس المحتلة، وهي بيت إكسا والنبي صموئيل وحي الخلايلة، وفرض تصاريح دخول على سكانها تمهيدا لإخضاعها للسيطرة الإسرائيلية الكاملة.
ويهدف هذا القرار إلى تقييد حركة السكان والسيطرة على الأراضي وإعادة تصنيف السكان كمقيمين، في خطوة تتزامن مع توسع الاستيطان في منطقة (إي-1) شرقي المدينة الفلسطينية المقدسة.
كما اعتقلت قوات الاحتلال النائبة العربية السابقة في الكنيست الإسرائيلية عن التجمع الوطني الديمقراطي حنين الزعبي بعد دهم منزلها في مدينة الناصرة بمنطقة الجليل داخل أراضي عام 1948، زاعمة أنها تحريض على الإرهاب.
Pope Leo of the Vatican condemned today (Sunday) the forced displacement of civilians in Gaza, as Israel intensified its destructive military campaign in the main city of the Palestinian territory.
According to Reuters, the Pope said during his weekly prayer: "With the pastors of the churches in the Holy Land, I reiterate that no future can be built on violence, forced displacement, and revenge."
Church Condemnation of Displacement
Pope Leo, the first pope from the United States, has played a more prominent role in calling for peace in Gaza since Israel bombed the only Catholic church in the territory last July.
The Pope added, "People need peace, and those who truly love them work for peace."
Closure of the Karama Crossing
The Israeli occupation announced today (Sunday) the closure of the Karama Crossing in the occupied West Bank to the movement of incoming and outgoing travelers just hours after the Palestinian Authority announced its reopening.
تهجير سكان غزة
Israeli occupation forces stormed the city of Hebron (in southern West Bank) today, and according to the Palestinian news agency (Wafa), the occupation forces raided several neighborhoods and the vicinity of the Ibrahimi Mosque, arresting a civilian after raiding and searching his family's home.
Isolation of 3 Villages in Jerusalem
On another note, Israel announced today the isolation of 3 villages northwest of the occupied city of Jerusalem, namely Beit Iksa, Nabi Samuel, and the Khalayla neighborhood, imposing entry permits on their residents in preparation for subjecting them to full Israeli control.
This decision aims to restrict the movement of residents, control the land, and reclassify the population as residents, coinciding with the expansion of settlement in the (E1) area east of the holy Palestinian city.
Israeli occupation forces also arrested former Arab Knesset member Hanin Zoabi from the National Democratic Assembly after raiding her home in the city of Nazareth in the Galilee region within the 1948 territories, claiming she incited terrorism.
