أتلف مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، اليوم (الخميس)، 6183 قطعة من الألغام والذخائر غير المنفجرة في منطقة وادي دوفس بمديرية زنجبار بمحافظة أبين وسط اليمن.

وأفاد مشروع مسام، في بيان، أن المواد التي جرى إتلافها شملت 15 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد، و6 مضادة للدبابات، و233 قذيفة متنوعة، و455 فيوزا متنوعا، و5421 طلقة متنوعة الأحجام، و42 قنبلة يدوية، إضافة إلى صواريخ ومخلفات حرب، مبيناً أن عملية الإتلاف جرت بتنفيذ من فريق المهمات الخاصة الأول التابع للمشروع، في إطار الجهود المستمرة لتطهير الأراضي اليمنية من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة والذخائر غير المنفجرة التي تهدد حياة المدنيين التي زرعها الحوثيون.
وقال قائد فريق المهمات الخاصة الأولى منذر أحمد قاسم: «العملية نُفذت بنجاح في منطقة آمنة بعيدة عن التجمعات السكانية والمناطق الزراعية»، مبيناً أن الفريق التزم بالمعايير الدولية الخاصة بعمليات الإتلاف، رغم التحديات الميدانية.

وأكد قاسم أن عمل فرق المهمات الخاصة لا يتوقف طوال العام، نظراً لأهمية هذه المهمات في حماية أرواح المدنيين الأبرياء، متعهداً بالتزام الفريق بمواصلة العمل حتى تطهير الأراضي اليمنية بالكامل من خطر الألغام.
ويواصل مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام جهوده الإنسانية في مختلف المحافظات اليمنية التي تشهد تلوثاً واسع النطاق بالألغام والعبوات الناسفة بهدف ضمان حياة وعودة آمنة للمدنيين في مختلف القرى والأرياف التي حولها الحوثي إلى حقول لاصطياد المدنيين، خصوصاً المزارعين ورعاة الأغنام.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance in Yemen today (Thursday) destroyed 6,183 pieces of landmines and unexploded ordnance in the Wadi Dufas area of the Zinjibar district in Abyan Governorate, central Yemen.
Details of the operation
The Masam project reported in a statement that the materials destroyed included 15 anti-personnel mines, 6 anti-tank mines, 233 assorted shells, 455 assorted fuses, 5,421 rounds of various calibers, 42 hand grenades, in addition to rockets and war remnants. It indicated that the destruction operation was carried out by the first special missions team of the project, as part of ongoing efforts to clear Yemeni lands of mines, explosive devices, and unexploded ordnance that threaten civilian lives, which were planted by the Houthis.
First Special Missions Team Leader Munther Ahmed Qassem stated: "The operation was successfully executed in a safe area away from population centers and agricultural areas," noting that the team adhered to international standards for destruction operations, despite field challenges.

Qassem confirmed that the work of the special missions teams does not stop throughout the year, due to the importance of these missions in protecting the lives of innocent civilians, pledging that the team will continue to work until all Yemeni lands are completely cleared of the danger of mines.
The "Masam" project for mine clearance continues its humanitarian efforts in various Yemeni governorates that are witnessing widespread contamination by mines and explosive devices, aiming to ensure a safe life and return for civilians in the various villages and rural areas that the Houthis have turned into fields for hunting civilians, especially farmers and shepherds.
