أعلن الجيش الباكستاني، اليوم (السبت)، مقتل 12 جنديّاً في شمال غرب البلاد بكمين مسلح نصبته حركة طالبان باكستان، واستهدف قافلة عسكرية.
وأفاد الجيش الباكستاني في بيان أن 12 جنديّاً و13 مسلحاً سقطوا في الاشتباك بعد تبادل كثيف لإطلاق النار، فيما قال مسؤولون أمنيون إن أربعة أشخاص على الأقل أصيبوا.
وكان الجنود على متن مركبات عندما تعرضوا لإطلاق نار في منطقة بدر الجبلية في وزيرستان الجنوبية قرب الحدود مع أفغانستان، فيما قال سكان إنهم شاهدوا طائرات هليكوبتر تحلق في الجو لساعات بعد الهجوم الذي وقع في صباح اليوم، وتنقل المصابين إلى المستشفى وتبحث عن المهاجمين.
بالمقابل، أعلنت حركة طالبان الباكستانية المتطرفة، المسؤولية عن الهجوم، وقالت إنها استولت أيضاً على أسلحة وطائرات مسيرة من الجنود.
وعادة ما يفرض حظر تجول ويجري تمشيط الطرق قبل دخول القوافل العسكرية إلى المنطقة، التي تعد بؤرة للمسلحين.

The soldiers were in vehicles when they came under fire in the mountainous Badr area of South Waziristan near the border with Afghanistan. Residents reported seeing helicopters flying in the air for hours after the attack that occurred this morning, transporting the injured to the hospital and searching for the attackers.
In contrast, the extremist Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that they also seized weapons and drones from the soldiers.
Typically, a curfew is imposed and roads are combed before military convoys enter the area, which is considered a stronghold for militants.
Islamabad accuses the Afghan Taliban administration of harboring the Pakistani Taliban with support from India, which has become a source of tension with Kabul and New Delhi, both of which deny this accusation.
