وأفادت وكالة «رويترز» أن عدة انفجارات سُمعت في العاصمة القطرية الدوحة، مبينة أن دخاناً شوهد يتصاعد في سماء حي كتارا بالدوحة، ولم تذكر الوكالة ماهية الضربات، غير أن الإعلام العبري قال إنها غارة إسرائيلية استهدفت مقر قيادة حماس. وذكر الجيش الإسرائيلي، أن سلاح الجو هاجم بشكل موجه بالدقة قيادة حركة حماس، دون تحديد المكان، معلناً مقتل زعيم حركة حماس، خليل الحية.
وقال مسؤول إسرائيلي: استهدفنا زعيم حماس خليل الحية وزاهر جبارين وننتظر النتائج، مشيراً إلى أنهم أبلغوا أمريكا بالهجوم وقدمت دعما كاملاً.
بدورها، قالت وسائل إعلام عربية إن الهجوم على مقر حماس وقع أثناء مناقشة مقترح ترمب. ونقلت عن مصدر من حركة حماس قوله: «وفدنا المفاوض أُستهدف أثناء اجتماعه بقطر».
