Palestinian sources confirmed today (Monday) the death of 32 people due to ongoing Israeli bombardment on the Gaza Strip, indicating that the shelling targeted several neighborhoods in the area.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today the death of 6 individuals, including two children, as a result of Israeli starvation within 24 hours, raising the total number of malnutrition victims to 393, including 140 children, since the Israeli aggression on Gaza began on October 7, 2023.
4 Killed in Ambush
Four Israeli soldiers from the "Nahal Oz" battalion were killed today (Monday) in the Gaza Strip in an ambush set by Palestinian militants while they were returning from a nighttime operation in the Jabalia camp in Gaza.
Israeli media reported that militants targeted a tank with an explosive device, which led to the deaths of the four soldiers, noting that Battalion 50 was under the command of tanks from Brigade 401 and was ambushed at dawn.
It was mentioned that the soldiers heard an explosion followed by gunfire, and it became clear that an explosive device had been thrown at the tank, followed by the targeting of the tank commander with gunfire. The four soldiers who were in the tank were killed, and the battalion's soldiers managed to spot 3 individuals and opened fire, killing one of them.
It was noted that the tank crew believed they were targeted by an RPG round, but it turned out to be an explosive device that ignited the tank completely, describing the incident as difficult.
Tension Within the Army
The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir decided to hold a meeting with the leaders of the General Staff to discuss the impact of the ongoing war on army personnel, indicating that the meeting would address the increasing social and economic tension in light of the continuation of the war.
This coincided with media confirmations of protests erupting outside the homes of the Knesset Speaker and the Minister of Strategic Affairs, demanding the return of prisoners, noting that the protesters called for a prisoner exchange deal, even if it meant halting military operations.
American Proposal
The American envoy had proposed to Hamas the release of all remaining 48 Israeli prisoners (alive and deceased) in exchange for a ceasefire and the end of the Israeli operation to occupy the city of Gaza, and the release of between 2,500 and 3,000 Palestinian prisoners from occupation jails, including hundreds serving life sentences.
The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" quoted sources saying: "Trump's proposal includes a commitment not to renew hostilities as long as negotiations are ongoing to end the war, and the occupation army will not remain deployed in its positions if the proposal is accepted."
