أعلن المعهد القومي للبحوث الفلكية والجيوفيزيقية في مصر تسجيل هزة أرضية بقوة 4.9 درجة على مقياس ريختر، وقعت اليوم الأحد، 7 سبتمبر 2025، على بعد 873 كيلومترًا شمال مدينة مرسى مطروح في منطقة غرب تركيا بالبحر المتوسط.
ووفقًا للبيان الرسمي الصادر عن المعهد، تم رصد الهزة في تمام الساعة 12:35:10 ظهرًا بتوقيت القاهرة، عند خط عرض 39.14 درجة شمالًا وخط طول 28.17 درجة شرقًا، على عمق 8.02 كيلومتر تحت سطح البحر.
تأثير زلزال شمال مرسى مطروح
وأكد رئيس المعهد الدكتور جاد القاضي، أن محطات الشبكة القومية لرصد الزلازل سجلت الهزة بدقة عالية، مشيرًا إلى أن موقعها البعيد عن السواحل المصرية جعلها غير محسوسة في المناطق المأهولة مثل مرسى مطروح والإسكندرية.
وأوضح أنه لم يرد إلى المعهد أي تقارير تفيد بشعور المواطنين بالهزة أو وقوع أي خسائر في الأرواح أو الممتلكات، مما يؤكد أن الوضع مستقر تمامًا.
النشاط الزلزالي لمنطقة شرق البحر المتوسط
وأشار رئيس قسم الزلازل بالمعهد الدكتور شريف الهادي، إلى أن هذه الهزة تندرج ضمن النشاط الزلزالي الطبيعي لمنطقة شرق البحر المتوسط، التي تُعد نشطة زلزاليًا بسبب تفاعل الصفائح التكتونية بين الصفيحة الأوراسية والأفريقية.
وأضاف أن الهزات الأرضية بقوة أقل من 5 درجات نادرًا ما تتسبب في أضرار، خصوصاً عند وقوعها في البحر بعيدًا عن المناطق السكنية.
كما أكد أن الشبكة القومية لرصد الزلازل تعمل على مدار الساعة لمراقبة أي نشاط زلزالي محتمل، مع توفير بيانات دقيقة للسلطات والمواطنين.
وأوضح المعهد أن المناطق الساحلية الشمالية في مصر، مثل مرسى مطروح، شهدت هزات أرضية مشابهة في السنوات الماضية، مثل هزة بقوة 4.65 ريختر عام 2023 على بعد 373 كيلومترًا شمال غرب مرسى مطروح، دون أي تأثير يُذكر.
خسوف كلي للقمر مساء اليوم
على صعيد آخر، تشهد سماء مصر ومعظمُ دول المنطقة العربية، مساءَ اليوم الأحد، خسوفًا كليًا للقمر، وتُعَدّ هذه الظاهرة الفلكية نادرةً يتابعها محبّو الفلك والخبراء.
وكشف المعهد القومي للبحوث الفلكية تفاصيلَ ظاهرة الخسوف الكلي للقمر التي ستحدث مساء اليوم، موضحًا أن الظاهرة ستبدأ في الساعة 7:27 مساءً تقريبًا بتوقيت القاهرة مع دخول القمر في مرحلة شبه الظل، يليها بدايةُ الخسوف الجزئي في 7:28 مساءً.
وقال المعهد القومي للبحوث الفلكية إن الخسوف الكلي سيكون في تمام الساعة الـ8:31 مساءً، ويستمر حتى الـ9:53، على أن يبلغ ذروته في الـ9:11، بينما تنتهي جميع مراحل الخسوف تمامًا في الـ10:56 مساءً، لتستغرق الظاهرة كاملةً قرابةَ 5 ساعات ونصف الساعة، منها ساعةٌ واثنتان وعشرون دقيقة للخسوف الكلي وحده.
وتابع المعهد القومي للبحوث الفلكية أن الخسوف يمكن مشاهدتُه بالعين المجردة من مختلف المحافظات المصرية دون الحاجة إلى أدوات أو نظارات خاصة.
The National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research in Egypt announced that a tremor measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale occurred today, Sunday, September 7, 2025, approximately 873 kilometers north of Marsa Matrouh city in the western Turkey region of the Mediterranean Sea.
According to the official statement issued by the institute, the tremor was recorded at exactly 12:35:10 PM Cairo time, at a latitude of 39.14 degrees north and a longitude of 28.17 degrees east, at a depth of 8.02 kilometers below sea level.
Impact of the Earthquake North of Marsa Matrouh
Dr. Gad El-Qadi, the head of the institute, confirmed that the stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded the tremor with high accuracy, noting that its distance from the Egyptian coasts made it imperceptible in populated areas such as Marsa Matrouh and Alexandria.
He explained that the institute had not received any reports indicating that citizens felt the tremor or that any loss of life or property occurred, confirming that the situation is completely stable.
Seismic Activity in the Eastern Mediterranean Region
Dr. Sherif El-Hadi, head of the earthquake department at the institute, pointed out that this tremor falls within the natural seismic activity of the Eastern Mediterranean region, which is seismically active due to the interaction of tectonic plates between the Eurasian and African plates.
He added that tremors measuring less than 5 degrees rarely cause damage, especially when they occur in the sea away from residential areas.
He also confirmed that the national seismic monitoring network operates around the clock to monitor any potential seismic activity, providing accurate data to authorities and citizens.
The institute clarified that the northern coastal areas of Egypt, such as Marsa Matrouh, have experienced similar tremors in past years, such as a tremor measuring 4.65 on the Richter scale in 2023, approximately 373 kilometers northwest of Marsa Matrouh, with no significant impact.
Total Lunar Eclipse Tonight
On another note, the sky over Egypt and most of the Arab region will witness a total lunar eclipse this evening, Sunday. This astronomical phenomenon is rare and is followed by astronomy enthusiasts and experts.
The National Institute for Astronomical Research revealed details of the total lunar eclipse phenomenon that will occur this evening, explaining that the phenomenon will begin at around 7:27 PM Cairo time with the moon entering the penumbral phase, followed by the start of the partial eclipse at 7:28 PM.
The National Institute for Astronomical Research stated that the total eclipse will occur at exactly 8:31 PM and will last until 9:53 PM, peaking at 9:11 PM, while all phases of the eclipse will completely end at 10:56 PM, with the entire phenomenon lasting approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes, including one hour and twenty-two minutes for the total eclipse alone.
The National Institute for Astronomical Research added that the eclipse can be observed with the naked eye from various Egyptian governorates without the need for special tools or glasses.
