رغم استمرار القطيعة بين الدولتين الجارتين الكوريتين، صافح الزعيم الكوري الشمالي كيم جونج أون اليوم (الأربعاء)، رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الكورية الجنوبية (البرلمان) وو وون-شيك، خلال حضورهما العرض العسكري الصيني بمناسبة الاحتفال بالذكرى الـ80 لنهاية الحرب العالمية الثانية.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء الكورية الجنوبية (يونهاب) عن مكتب «وو»، أن كيم ورئيس البرلمان تصافحا قبل بدء العرض العسكري، الذي يمثل رئيس الجمعية الوطنية كوريا الجنوبية في حضوره، مبينة أن اللقاء كان قصيراً.
وعلى الرغم من سياسة كوريا الشمالية المتشددة التي تصف الجنوب بأنه دولة عدو، ورفضها للمبادرات الدبلوماسية الأخيرة التي قدمتها إدارة لي جاي-ميونج لتحسين العلاقات بين الكوريتين، إلا أن المصافحة تمثل خطوة جديدة.
وصعد كيم والرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين وشي إلى المنصة معاً، بينما كان وو في الخلف ضمن باقي الموكب، خلال العرض العسكري.
وقال وو للصحفيين قبل مغادرته إلى الصين إنه غير متأكد من إمكانية عقد لقاء مع الزعيم كيم، كما أنه من المقرر أن يلتقي مع كبار المسؤولين في المؤتمر الوطني الشعبي ومجلس الدولة قبل عودته إلى كوريا (الجمعة).

Despite the ongoing rift between the two neighboring Korean states, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un shook hands today (Wednesday) with South Korean National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik during their attendance at the Chinese military parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The South Korean news agency (Yonhap) reported from Woo's office that Kim and the Speaker shook hands before the military parade, which represents the South Korean National Assembly in attendance, noting that the meeting was brief.
Although North Korea's hardline policy describes the South as an enemy state and has rejected recent diplomatic initiatives proposed by the Yoon Suk-yeol administration to improve relations between the Koreas, the handshake represents a new step.
Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin ascended to the platform together, while Woo was in the back among the rest of the entourage during the military parade.
Woo told reporters before departing for China that he was unsure about the possibility of holding a meeting with leader Kim, and he is also scheduled to meet with senior officials at the National People's Congress and the State Council before returning to Korea (on Friday).
