دعا الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي، اليوم (السبت)، الولايات المتحدة وأوروبا والعالم بأسره لاتخاذ إجراء حاسم ضد روسيا، وذلك بعد الهجمات على منطقة زابوريجيا جنوب شرق أوكرانيا.
وكتب زيلينسكي على «فيسبوك»، اليوم: «هذه الحرب لن تنتهي ببيانات سياسية، يجب اتخاذ خطوات حقيقية»، مشدداً على ضرورة فرض المزيد من العقوبات، ويجب أن تستهدف روسيا نفسها في قطاعي البنوك والطاقة.
وأعرب زيلينسكي عن أسفه إزاء حقيقة أن روسيا أظهرت من خلال هجماتها الأخيرة بالصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة وصواريخ كروز أنها تظهر مجدداً تجاهلها التام للكلمات، مضيفاً: «نعول على الإجراءات الحقيقية وأنه من الواضح تماماً أن موسكو استغلت الوقت المقدم من الغرب للإعداد لمحادثات بين الرئيسين الأوكراني والروسي لتنظيم هجمات جديدة».
بالمقابل، أعلنت روسيا اليوم أنها تسيطر على 79% من أراضي دونيتسك، و99.7% من أراضي لوغانسك، موضحة أنها أقامت منطقة عازلة على طول حدود أوكرانيا في سومي وخاركيف.
وكانت أمريكا قد أبلغت مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة أمس، أن الضربات الصاروخية وهجمات الطائرات المسيّرة الروسية على أوكرانيا التي أسفرت عن سقوط ضحايا تلقي بظلال من الشك على جدية رغبة روسيا في السلام، محذرة من أن واشنطن قد تعاقب موسكو بإجراءات اقتصادية إذا واصلت الحرب.
وذكر الدبلوماسي الأمريكي جون كيلي أمام المجلس المؤلف من 15 عضواً، أن الولايات المتحدة تدعو روسيا إلى تجنب هذه العواقب من خلال وقف العنف والانخراط بشكل بناء لإنهاء الحرب، مضيفاً: «يجب على روسيا أن تقرر الآن التحرك نحو السلام. يجب أن يتفق قادة روسيا وأوكرانيا على الاجتماع بشكل ثنائي».
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called today (Saturday) for the United States, Europe, and the entire world to take decisive action against Russia, following the attacks on the Zaporizhia region in southeastern Ukraine.
Zelensky wrote on Facebook today: "This war will not end with political statements; real steps must be taken," emphasizing the need for more sanctions that should target Russia itself in the banking and energy sectors.
Zelensky expressed his regret over the fact that Russia has shown, through its recent missile and drone attacks and cruise missiles, a complete disregard for words, adding: "We rely on real actions, and it is clear that Moscow has exploited the time given by the West to prepare for talks between the Ukrainian and Russian presidents to organize new attacks."
In contrast, Russia announced today that it controls 79% of Donetsk territory and 99.7% of Luhansk territory, stating that it has established a buffer zone along the borders of Ukraine in Sumy and Kharkiv.
The United States informed the United Nations Security Council yesterday that the Russian missile strikes and drone attacks on Ukraine, which resulted in casualties, cast doubt on Russia's serious desire for peace, warning that Washington may punish Moscow with economic measures if it continues the war.
American diplomat John Kelly told the 15-member council that the United States calls on Russia to avoid these consequences by stopping the violence and engaging constructively to end the war, adding: "Russia must decide now to move towards peace. The leaders of Russia and Ukraine must agree to meet bilaterally."
