هددت إيران، اليوم (الخميس)، بعدم التعامل مع الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية إذا أعادت الترويكا الأوروبية تفعيل «آلية الزناد»، أو ما يُعرف بـ«سناب باك»، مؤكدة استمرارها في برنامجها النووي.
ونقلت وسائل إعلام إيرانية عن رئيس منظمة الطاقة الذرية محمد إسلامي، قوله إن بلاده ستواصل برنامجها النووي بما يتناسب مع احتياجات البلاد العلمية والتنموية، موضحاً أن التعامل مع الوكالة الدولية سيكون تبعاً للقانون الذي أقره البرلمان.
من جهته، قال نائب وزير الخارجية كاظم غريب آبادي، في حوار مع التلفزيون الرسمي الإيراني: «من غير المنطقي أن تعمل طهران مع المفتشين النوويين إذا أعيد فرض العقوبات الأممية»، مضيفاً: «لقد قلنا لهم إنه في حال حدوث ذلك، فإن المسار الذي فتحناه مع الوكالة الذرية سيتضرر بصورة كاملة، ومن المحتمل أن يتوقف».
وقال دبلوماسيان أوروبيان إن بريطانيا وفرنسا وألمانيا ستبدأ اليوم عملية إعادة فرض العقوبات الدولية على إيران في مجلس الأمن الدولي، وذلك بعد أن اجتمعت الدول الثلاث، المعروفة باسم الترويكا الأوروبية، مع إيران، يوم الثلاثاء، في محاولة لإحياء الجهود الدبلوماسية بشأن البرنامج النووي، لكن المحادثات لم تسفر عن التزامات ملموسة من إيران.
وأضاف الدبلوماسيان أن الترويكا الأوروبية قررت تفعيل ما يسمى بآلية العودة السريعة للعقوبات على إيران، بسبب انتهاك اتفاق 2015 الذي يهدف إلى منع طهران من تطوير سلاح نووي.
وتأمل الترويكا أن تدفع هذه الخطوة السلطات الإيرانية إلى تقديم التزامات بشأن برنامجها النووي خلال 30 يوماً.
Iran threatened today (Thursday) not to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency if the European troika reactivates the "snapback" mechanism, emphasizing its continuation of its nuclear program.
Iranian media reported that the head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stated that his country will continue its nuclear program in accordance with the scientific and developmental needs of the country, clarifying that cooperation with the agency will be according to the law approved by the parliament.
For his part, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said in an interview with Iranian state television: "It is illogical for Tehran to work with nuclear inspectors if UN sanctions are reimposed," adding: "We have told them that if that happens, the path we opened with the atomic agency will be completely harmed, and it may stop."
Two European diplomats stated that Britain, France, and Germany will begin today the process of reimposing international sanctions on Iran at the United Nations Security Council, after the three countries, known as the European troika, met with Iran on Tuesday in an attempt to revive diplomatic efforts regarding the nuclear program, but the talks did not yield concrete commitments from Iran.
The diplomats added that the European troika decided to activate the so-called snapback mechanism for sanctions on Iran due to violations of the 2015 agreement aimed at preventing Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.
The troika hopes that this step will push the Iranian authorities to make commitments regarding their nuclear program within 30 days.
