فيما قتل 64 فلسطينياً بنيران جيش الاحتلال في مناطق عدة بالقطاع منذ فجر اليوم (الأربعاء)، بينهم 19 من طالبي المساعدات، أعلن المتحدث باسم جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، أن إسرائيل دخلت المراحل الأولى من هجومها على مدينة غزة.
ونقلت القناة 12 الإسرائيلية، عن المتحدث إيفي دفرين قوله: «سنكثف ضرباتنا ضد حركة حماس في مدينة غزة، بدأنا العمليات التمهيدية للهجوم، وسنهيئ الظروف لعودة الأسرى، وفقاً لتوجيهات القيادة السياسية».
وكان رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو قد وجه جيشه بتقليص المدة الزمنية للسيطرة على معاقل حركة حماس في غزة، وفق ما ذكره مكتبه.
فيما قال المتحدث باسم جيش الاحتلال أفيخاي أدرعي أنه في إطار الاستعداد للمرحلة التالية من العملية، تم اليوم إصدار نحو 60,000 أمر استدعاء لجنود الاحتياط، على أن يتم إبلاغ 20,000 من جنود الاحتياط الذين جندوا مسبقاً بقرار تمديد أوامر خدمتهم الحالية.
وكشف مسؤول عسكري إسرائيلي بعض التفاصيل عن الخطة. متوقعاً الانتهاء من خطة الهجوم في الأيام القادمة.
وأشار المسؤول إلى أن 5 فرق ستشارك، من ضمنها 12 فريق قتال لوائي، إضافة إلى اللواءين التابعين لفرقة غزة الشمالي والجنوبي، حسب ما نقلت إذاعة الجيش الإسرائيلي.
في غضون ذلك، نقلت قناة «أي بي سي» الأمريكية عن مسؤول بالجيش الإسرائيلي قوله: نواجه نقصاً في عدد الجنود يراوح بين 10 آلاف و12 ألف جندي في ظل قلة تجنيد الحريديم مما يدفعان لاستنفاد كل السبل لسد الحاجة.
وأشار إلى أن جيش الاحتلال وجه نداء للجاليات اليهودية في الخارج بسبب النقص الحاد في الجنود، مبيناً أن الجيش سيتجه إلى أكبر الجاليات اليهودية في الشتات لتشجيع التجنيد.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the occupation army, Avichai Adraee, stated that as part of the preparations for the next phase of the operation, about 60,000 reserve soldiers' summons orders were issued today, and 20,000 previously recruited reserve soldiers will be informed of the decision to extend their current service orders.
An Israeli military official revealed some details about the plan, expecting to complete the attack plan in the coming days.
The official indicated that 5 brigades will participate, including 12 battalion combat teams, in addition to the two brigades belonging to the northern and southern Gaza division, according to what was reported by the Israeli army radio.
In the meantime, the American channel "ABC" quoted an Israeli army official saying: "We are facing a shortage of soldiers ranging between 10,000 and 12,000 soldiers due to the low recruitment of Haredim, which is prompting us to exhaust all means to meet the need."
The official pointed out that the occupation army has made an appeal to Jewish communities abroad due to the acute shortage of soldiers, indicating that the army will turn to the largest Jewish communities in the diaspora to encourage recruitment.
