لم يكن الحفر هذه المرة بحثًا عن كنز، بل كان طريقًا سريعًا إلى الموت في قرية هادئة بمحافظة الفيوم، حيث تحولت مزرعة زيتون إلى مسرح حادثة صادمة، بعدما انهارت حفرة عميقة فجأة على شابين كانا يعملان داخلها، لينتهى كل شيء في لحظات.
كانت البداية حين استأجر رجل خمسيني مزرعة، ليس لزراعتها، بل لبدء أعمال تنقيب غير مشروعة عن الآثار. ومع مرور الوقت، تحولت الأرض إلى موقع حفر سري، بعيدًا عن الأنظار، داخل قرية فانوس التابعة لمركز طامية.
استعان المتهم بشابين للقيام بأعمال الحفر داخل حفرة عميقة، في محاولة للوصول إلى ما اعتقد أنه «كنز مدفون». لكن ما لم يكن في الحسبان أن الرمال قد تنقلب في أي لحظة.
وخلال العمل، انهارت جوانب الحفرة بشكل مفاجئ، لتطمر الشابين بالكامل تحت الرمال، دون أي فرصة للنجاة. وكانت دقائق قليلة كافية لتحويل الموقع إلى مقبرة.
الضحيتان، أحدهما لم يتجاوز 17 عامًا، والآخر يبلغ 35 عامًا، لقيا مصرعهما في الحال، في مشهد مأساوي هزّ أهالي المنطقة.
وسرعان ما تحركت الأجهزة الأمنية المصرية فور تلقي البلاغ، حيث كشفت التحريات تفاصيل ما جرى، وتمكنت من ضبط مستأجر المزرعة المتهم بإدارة أعمال الحفر والتنقيب غير المشروع.
وجرى نقل الجثمانين إلى مشرحة مستشفى طامية المركزي، فيما باشرت النيابة العامة المصرية التحقيقات لكشف جميع الملابسات، وسط تساؤلات تتكرر في مثل هذه الحوادث: كم عدد هذه الحفر السرية التي لا تُكتشف إلا بعد الكارثة؟ وكم روحًا قد تُزهق في سبيل وهم «الكنز»؟ لكن الحادثة تعيد إلى الواجهة واحدة من أخطر الظواهر الخفية، حين يتحول البحث غير المشروع عن الآثار إلى مقامرة بالحياة.
This time, the digging was not in search of treasure, but a quick path to death in a quiet village in the Fayoum Governorate, where an olive farm turned into the scene of a shocking incident after a deep pit suddenly collapsed on two young men who were working inside it, ending everything in moments.
The beginning was when a man in his fifties rented a farm, not to cultivate it, but to start illegal excavation work for antiquities. Over time, the land transformed into a secret digging site, hidden from view, within the village of Fanoos in the Tamia district.
The accused enlisted two young men to carry out the digging work inside a deep pit, in an attempt to reach what he believed was a "buried treasure." But what was not anticipated was that the sand could shift at any moment.
During the work, the sides of the pit suddenly collapsed, burying the two young men completely under the sand, with no chance of survival. Just a few minutes were enough to turn the site into a grave.
The victims, one of whom was not yet 17 years old and the other 35, died instantly in a tragic scene that shook the local residents.
The Egyptian security forces quickly moved upon receiving the report, revealing the details of what had happened, and managed to apprehend the tenant of the farm accused of managing the illegal excavation and digging operations.
The bodies were transferred to the mortuary of Tamia Central Hospital, while the Egyptian Public Prosecution began investigations to uncover all the circumstances, amidst recurring questions in such incidents: How many of these secret pits go undiscovered until after a disaster? And how many lives may be lost in pursuit of the illusion of "treasure"? But the incident brings to the forefront one of the most dangerous hidden phenomena, when illegal searches for antiquities turn into a gamble with life.
