Amid international warnings of a new humanitarian disaster, Israel has begun the preliminary phase of its plan to occupy the city of Gaza under the name "Gideon's Chariots 2." Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that his country would end the war on its own terms.

During his visit to the southern command today, Wednesday, accompanied by Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, to review the details of the plans to control the city of Gaza, he urged Israeli soldiers to "stand united to secure the release of the hostages, subdue Hamas, and end the war according to the conditions set by Israel." Katz stated that he had allowed Israeli forces to use all means and force to strike Hamas until it was defeated, as he put it.

The occupying army had issued orders to call up 20,000 reservists and extend the mission of another 20,000.

Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, launched an attack on an Israeli army camp in the southern Gaza Strip. Sources reported that 3 Israeli soldiers were injured in Hamas's attempt to take control of the camp.

The Israeli army announced the call-up of 60,000 reservists and the extension of service for 20,000 reservists in preparation for Operation "Gideon's Chariots 2" to occupy the city of Gaza, according to the Israeli army's press office.

It clarified in a statement that "the call-up of reservist forces has been approved in preparation for the next phase of Operation Gideon's Chariots, and about 60,000 call-ups have been sent to reservist forces." The army noted that 20,000 reservists who were called up received notification of the extension of their service.

International warnings and condemnations have intensified over the past few days regarding the implementation of the plan to occupy Gaza, which would exacerbate the tragedy of civilians in the sector in general and the city of Gaza in particular, amid a shortage of aid, the destruction of hospitals, and the absence of safe places for residents to seek refuge.
