أصدر رئيس مجلس السيادة الانتقالي القائد العام للقوات المسلحة السودانية الفريق أول ركن عبد الفتاح البرهان قرارات واسعة النطاق لإعادة تشكيل رئاسة هيئة أركان الجيش السوداني، شملت تعيين قيادات جديدة، وترقيات، وإحالات للتقاعد، وذلك في سياق جهود مستمرة لتنظيم العمل داخل القوات المسلحة وتعزيز كفاءتها وسط تحديات سياسية وعسكرية معقدة يواجهها السودان.
ووفقاً لبيان صادر عن مكتب المتحدث باسم القوات المسلحة، تم تشكيل رئاسة هيئة أركان جديدة شملت الفريق أول ركن محمد عثمان الحسين الحسن رئيساً لهيئة الأركان، والفريق الركن مجدي إبراهيم عثمان خليل نائباً لرئيس هيئة الأركان للإمداد، والفريق مهندس ركن خالد عابدين محمد أحمد الشامي، نائباً لرئيس هيئة الأركان للتدريب.
كما شمل تشكيل هيئة الأركان الجديدة تعيين الفريق الركن عبدالخير عبدالله ناصر درجام نائباً لرئيس هيئة الأركان للإدارة، والفريق الركن محمد علي أحمد صبير رئيس هيئة الاستخبارات العسكرية، والفريق الركن مالك الطيب خوجلي النيل نائباً لرئيس هيئة الأركان للعمليات.
وشملت قرارات رئيس مجلس السيادة الانتقالي القائد العام للقوات المسلحة السودانية ترقية الفريق الركن معتصم عباس التوم أحمد مفتشاً عاماً للقوات المسلحة، والفريق طيار ركن علي عجبنا جمودة محمد قائداً للقوات الجوية، والفريق طبيب زكريا إبراهيم محمد أحمد مديراً للإدارة العامة للخدمات الطبية، واللواء مهندس ركن عمر سر الختم حسن نصر قائداً لقوات الدفاع الجوي.
وأصدر رئيس مجلس السيادة الانتقالي قراراً بترقية الفريق الركن عباس حسن عباس الداروتي لرتبة الفريق أول وإحالته للتقاعد بالمعاش، وترقية الفريق الركن عبدالمحمود حماد حسين عجمي لرتبة الفريق أول وإحالته للتقاعد بالمعاش، وترقية الفريق طيار ركن الطاهر محمد العوض الأمين لرتبة الفريق أول وإحالته للتقاعد بالمعاش.
وتأتي هذه التغييرات في وقت حساس للسودان، حيث تشهد البلاد نزاعاً مسلحاً مستمراً منذ أبريل 2023 بين القوات المسلحة السودانية وقوات الدعم السريع، ما أدى إلى خسائر بشرية ومادية كبيرة وأزمة إنسانية حادة.
ومنذ توليه رئاسة مجلس السيادة الانتقالي في أغسطس 2019، اتخذ البرهان سلسلة من الإجراءات لتعزيز سيطرة الجيش على المشهد السياسي والعسكري، بما في ذلك إجراءات استثنائية في أكتوبر 2021، التي تضمنت حل مجلسي السيادة والوزراء، وفرض حالة الطوارئ.
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, issued extensive decisions to restructure the leadership of the Sudanese Army General Staff, which included the appointment of new leaders, promotions, and retirements, as part of ongoing efforts to organize work within the armed forces and enhance their efficiency amid complex political and military challenges facing Sudan.
According to a statement issued by the spokesperson for the armed forces, a new General Staff was formed, which included Lieutenant General Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein Al-Hassan as the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Magdi Ibrahim Osman Khalil as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, and Engineer Lieutenant General Khalid Abdeen Mohamed Ahmed Al-Shami as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Training.
The new General Staff also included the appointment of Lieutenant General Abdulkhair Abdullah Nasser Dergam as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration, Lieutenant General Mohamed Ali Ahmed Sabir as the Chief of Military Intelligence, and Lieutenant General Malik Al-Tayeb Khogali Al-Nile as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations.
The decisions of the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces also included the promotion of Lieutenant General Moatasem Abbas Al-Toum Ahmed to Inspector General of the Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Pilot Ali Ajbna Jumuda Mohamed as the Commander of the Air Force, and Lieutenant General Doctor Zakaria Ibrahim Mohamed Ahmed as the Director of the General Administration of Medical Services, and Engineer Major General Omar Sir Al-Khatim Hassan Nasr as the Commander of Air Defense Forces.
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council also issued a decision to promote Lieutenant General Abbas Hassan Abbas Al-Darouti to the rank of Lieutenant General and retire him, promote Lieutenant General Abdul Mahmoud Hamad Hussein Ajami to the rank of Lieutenant General and retire him, and promote Lieutenant General Pilot Al-Taher Mohamed Al-Awad Al-Amin to the rank of Lieutenant General and retire him.
These changes come at a sensitive time for Sudan, as the country has been experiencing an ongoing armed conflict since April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, resulting in significant human and material losses and a severe humanitarian crisis.
Since assuming the presidency of the Transitional Sovereignty Council in August 2019, Al-Burhan has taken a series of measures to reinforce the military's control over the political and military scene, including exceptional measures in October 2021, which involved dissolving the Sovereignty and Ministers Councils and imposing a state of emergency.
