اعتبر الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن الوقت قد حان لإنهاء الحرب المستعرة بين بلاده وروسيا منذ العام 2022.
وقال زيلينسكي في بيان مقتضب، اليوم (الجمعة)، إن قمة الرئيسين الأمريكي دونالد ترمب والروسي فلاديمير بوتين حيوية وتفتح الطريق نحو السلام العادل، وعقد مناقشة ثلاثية جوهرية بين أوكرانيا والولايات المتحدة وروسيا. وأضاف أن بلاده تعتمد على الولايات المتحدة من أجل إقناع روسيا بإنهاء الحرب.
وكان الرئيس الأمريكي أبدى مجدداً إعجابه ببوتين من على متن الطائرة الرئاسية المتوجهة إلى ألاسكا، وقال إنه «رجل ذكي جداً.. ونكن الاحترام لبعضنا البعض».
وأعرب عن استعداده لمناقشة استئناف التعاون الاقتصادي بين البلدين في حال تحقيق تقدم بشأن أوكرانيا.
واستبعد ترمب إمكانية انضمام أوكرانيا إلى حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو)، لكنه رجح تقديم ضمانات أمنية أمريكية لها بالتعاون مع أوروبا.
وألمح الرئيس الأمريكي إلى إمكانية حصول تبادل للأراضي بين الروس والأوكرانيين لاحقاً، إلا أنه أكد أن الأمر متروك للجانب الأوكراني.
يذكر أن قمة ألاسكا ستكون أول لقاء مباشر من نوعه بين الرئيسين الأمريكي والروسي منذ شن بوتين غزوه الشامل لأوكرانيا في فبراير 2022.
ويحمل اللقاء الذي من المقرر أن ينطلق في الساعة 1130 صباحا (1930 بتوقيت غرينتش) في قاعدة إلمندورف- ديتشاردسون العسكرية في أنكوراج أهمية بالغة بالنسبة لكييف وموسكو، فضلاً عن واشنطن وقادة الدول الأوروبية.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky considered that the time has come to end the raging war between his country and Russia since 2022.
Zelensky stated in a brief statement today (Friday) that the summit between American President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is vital and opens the way towards a just peace, and holds a substantive trilateral discussion between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. He added that his country relies on the United States to convince Russia to end the war.
The American president again expressed his admiration for Putin while on board the presidential plane heading to Alaska, stating that he is "a very smart man... and we respect each other."
He expressed his willingness to discuss the resumption of economic cooperation between the two countries if progress is made regarding Ukraine.
Trump ruled out the possibility of Ukraine joining NATO but suggested that American security guarantees could be provided to it in cooperation with Europe.
The American president hinted at the possibility of a land exchange between Russians and Ukrainians later, but he confirmed that the matter is up to the Ukrainian side.
It is worth noting that the Alaska summit will be the first direct meeting of its kind between the American and Russian presidents since Putin launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The meeting, which is scheduled to start at 11:30 AM (19:30 GMT) at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage, carries significant importance for Kyiv and Moscow, as well as for Washington and European leaders.
