فيما تتوجه الأنظار نحو ولاية ألاسكا التي ستشهد غداً (الجمعة) قمة بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ونظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، تعرضت مدينتان غربي روسيا اليوم (الخميس) لهجمات بطائرات مسيرة استهدفت مباني سكنية ومصفاة نفط مما أدى إلى إصابة 16 شخصاً وإلحاق أضرار مادية.
وأوضح القائم بأعمال حاكم منطقة روستوف أن 13 شخصاً على الأقل أُصيبوا، بينهم حالتان خطيرتان، جراء سقوط طائرة مسيّرة على مبنى سكني في مدينة روستوف، فيما أكد حاكم مدينة بيلجورود، القريبة من الحدود مع أوكرانيا إصابة 3 مدنيين في هجوم مماثل.
وأظهر فيديو طائرة مسيّرة وهي تصطدم بسيارة في وسط المدينة، وبحسب حاكم منطقة فولجوجراد، فإن حطام طائرات تسبب في اندلاع حريق بمصفاة نفط، جاء الهجوم بعد إعلان روسي أمس تحقيق تقدم في شرق أوكرانيا.
في الوقت ذاته، ذكرت هيئة الأركان العامة الأوكرانية، أن الهجوم تسبب في أضرار وحريق واسع النطاق في منطقة المنشأة الواقعة في إقليم بريانسك الروسي، قرب الحدود مع أوكرانيا وبيلاروس، مبيناً أن انفجارات سُمعت في منطقة التخزين وفي مواقع المضخات الرئيسية والاحتياطية.
وأفاد حاكم إقليم بريانسك، ألكسندر بوجوماز بأن حريقاً اندلع في منشأة وقود بمنطقة أونيتشا نتيجة هجوم أوكراني بالصواريخ والمسيّرات، مشيراً إلى أن الحريق تم إخماده، من دون تقديم تفاصيل إضافية حول حجم الأضرار.
من جهة أخرى، نقلت وسائل إعلام غربية عن باحثين أمريكيين ومصدر أمني غربي قولهم إن روسيا في طريقها لاختبار صاروخ «كروز» جديد يعمل بالطاقة النووية، مؤكدين أن روسيا تجهز لاختبار صاروخ بمنطقة «بوريفيستنك» هذا الأسبوع.
As attention turns to the state of Alaska, which will witness a summit tomorrow (Friday) between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, two cities in western Russia were hit today (Thursday) by drone attacks targeting residential buildings and an oil refinery, resulting in 16 injuries and property damage.
The acting governor of the Rostov region stated that at least 13 people were injured, including two in critical condition, due to a drone crashing into a residential building in the city of Rostov, while the governor of Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, confirmed that 3 civilians were injured in a similar attack.
A video showed a drone crashing into a car in the city center, and according to the governor of the Volgograd region, debris from the drones caused a fire at the oil refinery. The attack came after a Russian announcement yesterday of progress in eastern Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that the attack caused damage and a large fire in the area of the facility located in the Bryansk region of Russia, near the border with Ukraine and Belarus, indicating that explosions were heard in the storage area and at the main and backup pump sites.
The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that a fire broke out at a fuel facility in the Onitsha area as a result of a Ukrainian missile and drone attack, noting that the fire has been extinguished, without providing additional details about the extent of the damage.
On another note, Western media reported that American researchers and a Western security source stated that Russia is on track to test a new nuclear-powered cruise missile, confirming that Russia is preparing to test a missile in the "Burevestnik" area this week.
