تمكنت قوات الجيش السوداني مدعومة بالقوة المشتركة لحركات دارفور، من صد هجوم مكثف شنّته قوات الدعم السريع على مدينة الفاشر، في محاولة للتوغل نحو عمقها.
وأفادت مصادر عسكرية بأن الجيش استولى على عدد من المركبات القتالية التي استخدمتها قوات الدعم السريع في الهجوم، بعد قصف مدفعي متبادل بين الجانبين، ركّزت خلاله قوات الجيش ضرباتها على المحور الجنوبي الغربي للمدينة.
من جانبها، دانت الولايات المتحدة عمليات القتل في مخيم أبو شوك للنازحين بولاية شمال دارفور. وقال مستشار الرئيس الأمريكي للشؤون الأفريقية مسعد بولس، إن واشنطن قلقة إزاء التقارير عن أعمال عنف تمارسها قوات الدعم السريع ضد المدنيين في مدينة الفاشر بولاية شمال دارفور، داعياً إلى تمكين وصول المساعدات دون عوائق ولحماية المدنيين بالسودان.
وذكرت المصادر أن مسيرة استهدفت احتفالاً وحشداً لقوات درع السودان لمناسبة عيد الجيش السوداني، إلا أنها لم تتسبب في سقوط ضحايا في منطقة تمبول بولاية الجزيرة وسط السودان. وتجري السلطات تحقيقا لمعرفة مصدر ومنصة انطلاق المسيرة التي استهدفت «درع السودان».
وكان الجيش السوداني أعلن أن قواته مدعومة بالقوة المشتركة والمقاومة الشعبية، حققت انتصارا ضد قوات الدعم السريع في مدينة الفاشر بعدما شنت الأخيرة هجوما من ثلاثة محاور، مستخدمة نحو 543 مركبة قتالية.
وأوضح الجيش أن الهجوم انطلق من معسكر زمزم ومناطق جنوب وشمال الفاشر، وأن القوات تمكنت من إلحاق خسائر كبيرة بالمهاجمين، شملت مقتل أكثر من 250 منهم، وتدمير 16 مركبة، والاستيلاء على 34 أخرى بينها عربات مصفحة، فيما لا تزال عمليات الحصر متواصلة.
وشهدت مدينة الفاشر في ولاية شمال دارفور تصعيداً جديداً مع شن قوات الدعم السريع هجمات مدفعية مكثفة استهدفت الأحياء الغربية ووسط المدينة.

The Sudanese army, supported by the joint forces of the Darfur movements, managed to repel an intense attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the city of El Fasher, in an attempt to penetrate deeper into it.
Military sources reported that the army seized several combat vehicles used by the Rapid Support Forces in the attack, following mutual artillery shelling between the two sides, during which the army focused its strikes on the southwestern axis of the city.
For its part, the United States condemned the killings in the Abu Shouk displacement camp in North Darfur. U.S. President's Advisor for African Affairs, Masad Boulos, stated that Washington is concerned about reports of violence perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces against civilians in the city of El Fasher in North Darfur, calling for unhindered access to aid and for the protection of civilians in Sudan.
Sources mentioned that a march targeted a celebration and gathering of the Sudan Shield Forces on the occasion of the Sudanese Army Day, but it did not result in casualties in the Tamboul area of Al Jazirah state in central Sudan. Authorities are conducting an investigation to determine the source and launch platform of the march that targeted the "Sudan Shield."
