رغم تصاعد التوتر إثر إعلان الحكومة تأييدها مقترحات الورقة الأمريكية بشأن حصر السلاح في يد الدولة، ونشر الجيش اللبناني جنوبي البلاد، استبعد رئيس مجلس النواب اللبناني نبيه بري، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، استقالة وزراء حركة أمل وحزب الله من الحكومة.
وقال بري في تصريحات صحفية: الاستقالة من الحكومة في الوقت الحالي غير واردة، موضحاً أن لبنان يمر بظروف استثنائية تفرض على جميع الأطراف التحلي بأعلى درجات المسؤولية والحكمة.
وأضاف بري، الذي يتزعم حركة أمل: منع انزلاق البلاد إلى الفتنة المذهبية يجب أن يكون في مقدمة الأولويات، محذراً من أن العدو الإسرائيلي يتمنى حدوث فتنة بين اللبنانيين.
وأشار إلى ضرورة ضبط الخطاب السياسي بما يتماشى مع هذا الهدف.
وكانت وسائل إعلام عربية ولبنانية قد ذكرت لقاءً جمع مستشار الرئيس اللبناني العماد جوزيف عون ورئيس مجلس النواب نبيه بري، أكد خلالها كافة الأطراف حرصهما على الوحدة الداخلية والاستقرار ودعم الجيش اللبناني في مهماته.
وكانت الحكومة اللبنانية أعلنت الخميس تأكيدها ضرورة نزع السلاح، ونشر الجيش في الجنوب.
وأكد الرئيس اللبناني العماد جوزيف عون أن لبنان اتخذ قراراً بالتوجه نحو الدولة وحدها، والمضي قدماً في تنفيذ هذا القرار، موضحاً خلال لقائه مجموعة من اللبنانيين المغتربين أن على جميع اللبنانيين وضع مصلحة البلاد سقفاً للتحرك تحته، ولا شيء يعلو فوق مصلحة لبنان الوطنية.
وحذّر الرئيس اللبناني من سياسة الاستقواء بالخارج ضد الآخر في الداخل، معلناً رفضه لذلك.
من جهة أخرى، يصل رئيس مجلس الأمن القومي الإيراني علي لاريجاني إلى لبنان خلال الساعات القادمة في رحلة من العاصمة العراقية بغداد، وذلك في ظل أجواء سياسية وشعبية مشحونة إثر التصريحات المتبادلة بين مسؤولي البلدين.
Despite the rising tensions following the government's announcement of its support for the American paper proposals regarding the monopolization of weapons in the hands of the state, and the deployment of the Lebanese army in the south of the country, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, excluded today (Tuesday) the resignation of ministers from the Amal Movement and Hezbollah from the government.
Berri stated in press remarks: "Resignation from the government at this time is not an option," clarifying that Lebanon is going through exceptional circumstances that require all parties to exhibit the highest levels of responsibility and wisdom.
Berri, who leads the Amal Movement, added: "Preventing the country from sliding into sectarian strife must be a top priority," warning that the Israeli enemy wishes for discord among the Lebanese.
He pointed out the necessity of regulating the political discourse in line with this goal.
Arab and Lebanese media reported a meeting between the advisor to the Lebanese President, General Joseph Aoun, and Speaker Nabih Berri, during which all parties emphasized their commitment to internal unity, stability, and support for the Lebanese army in its missions.
The Lebanese government announced on Thursday its confirmation of the necessity of disarming and deploying the army in the south.
Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun confirmed that Lebanon has decided to move towards a state-centric approach and to proceed with implementing this decision, clarifying during his meeting with a group of expatriate Lebanese that all Lebanese must prioritize the country's interests above all else, and nothing should take precedence over Lebanon's national interest.
The Lebanese President warned against the policy of seeking foreign support against others within the country, announcing his rejection of such an approach.
On another note, the Iranian National Security Council Chairman Ali Larijani is expected to arrive in Lebanon within the coming hours on a trip from the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, amid charged political and public atmospheres following the exchanged statements between officials of the two countries.
