تستعد القوات الجوية الأمريكية لاستخدام شاحنات سايبرترك من إنتاج شركة تسلا كأهداف لتدريبات الرماية واختبارات الصواريخ الحية، وفق وثائق حصلت عليها مدونة The War Zone. وستجري الاختبارات في ميدان وايت ساندز للصواريخ بولاية نيو مكسيكو، ضمن خطة لتدمير 33 مركبة، بينها شاحنات سايبرترك غير صالحة للعمل لكنها قادرة على التدحرج قبل استهدافها.
وبحسب التقرير، قررت القوات الجوية إدراج هذه المركبات بسبب شكوك في أن خصوم الولايات المتحدة قد يستخدمونها في القتال نظرًا لمتانتها المزعومة وصعوبة تدميرها. وأشار المسؤولون إلى أن الشاحنات لم تتعرض للضرر المتوقع في اختبارات الاصطدام، ما يجعلها هدفًا مهمًا لتجربة فاعلية الأسلحة ضدها.
ويأتي القرار في ظل تقارير عن استخدام محتمل لسايبرترك في مناطق نزاع، منها ظهور شاحنة معدلة في حوزة زعيم الشيشان رمضان قديروف العام الماضي، قبل أن يتهم شركة تسلا بتعطيلها عن بعد.
ورغم وصف إيلون ماسك للشاحنة بأنها «مقاومة لنهاية العالم»، شهدت سايبرترك منذ إطلاقها عام 2023 ثماني عمليات استدعاء بسبب مشكلات تقنية، من بينها خلل في نظام التثبيت ودواسة الوقود. ويهدف الجيش الأمريكي من هذه التجارب إلى التأكد من قدرة أسلحته على تدمير مجموعة متنوعة من المركبات، رغم أن الخبراء يرون أن سايبرترك قد لا تشكل تهديدًا حقيقيًا في ساحات المعارك.
The U.S. Air Force is preparing to use Cybertruck trucks produced by Tesla as targets for shooting drills and live missile tests, according to documents obtained by The War Zone blog. The tests will take place at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, as part of a plan to destroy 33 vehicles, including non-operational Cybertrucks that are capable of rolling before being targeted.
According to the report, the Air Force decided to include these vehicles due to concerns that U.S. adversaries might use them in combat given their alleged durability and difficulty in destruction. Officials noted that the trucks did not sustain the expected damage in crash tests, making them an important target for testing the effectiveness of weapons against them.
The decision comes amid reports of potential use of the Cybertruck in conflict areas, including the appearance of a modified truck in the possession of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov last year, before he accused Tesla of disabling it remotely.
Despite Elon Musk describing the truck as "apocalypse-proof," the Cybertruck has faced eight recalls since its launch in 2023 due to technical issues, including a malfunction in the stabilization system and the accelerator pedal. The U.S. military aims to ensure its weapons can destroy a variety of vehicles through these tests, although experts believe the Cybertruck may not pose a real threat on battlefields.
