حذر الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون من خطة إسرائيل بشأن احتلال غزة، مؤكداً أنها تمثل «كارثة محققة» وتنطوي على خطورة غير مسبوقة. وشدد ماكرون على أن هذه الاستراتيجية ستؤدي إلى وقوع ضحايا بين الرهائن الإسرائيليين وسكان غزة المدنيين.
ودعا ماكرون الحكومة الإسرائيلية إلى إنهاء هذه الحرب عبر وقف دائم لإطلاق النار، محذراً من أن استمرار النزاع سيزيد من معاناة المدنيين ويعقد فرص تحقيق السلام في المنطقة.
واقترح الرئيس الفرنسي تشكيل تحالف دولي يتم تفويضه من قبل الأمم المتحدة لمواجهة الإرهاب والعمل على تحقيق الاستقرار في غزة، مطالباً بضرورة تعاون المجتمع الدولي للحد من تداعيات الأزمة الإنسانية والأمنية.
ووصف ماكرون الخطة الإسرائيلية بأنها «كارثة معلنة غير مسبوقة بخطورتها»، مشدداً على أن الوقت حان لاتخاذ إجراءات عاجلة تمنع المزيد من الخسائر البشرية وتفتح باب الحلول السياسية الشاملة.
في غضون ذلك، يستعد الجيش الإسرائيلي للبدء في تنفيذ خطة الهجوم على مدينة غزة، واحتلال كامل القطاع الفلسطيني المدمر الذي تسيطر إسرائيل على نحو 75% منه.
وكانت منظمة الصحة العالمية حذرت من أن خطة إسرائيل لاحتلال القطاع بالكامل «مقلقة للغاية وتعرض مزيداً من الأطفال للخطر» نتيجة سوء التغذية ونقص الرعاية الصحية.
