يواصل مشروع مسام لنزع الألغام في اليمن جهوده لتأمين حياة المدنيين في المحافظات المحررة وتطبيع الوضع لعودة مئات الأسر النازحة هرباً من الألغام والعبوات الناسفة، وتمكن المشروع السعودي من نزع 1140 لغماً وذخيرة غير منفجرة وعبوة ناسفة الأسبوع الماضي.
وذكر المشروع على حسابه في «إكس» أن الفريق نزع منذ منذ بداية أغسطس وحتى 8 منه 1944 ذخيرة غير منفجرة و77 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات، مبيناً أن الفريق استطاع خلال أسبوع تطهير 398337 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي اليمنية، بما يسهم في تأمين مناطق سكنية وزراعية كانت مهددة بالخطر.
وأفاد المشروع أن فريقه تمكن منذ انطلاق المشروع وحتى الأول من أغسطس الجاري من نزع 347498 ذخيرة غير منفجرة و8250 عبوة ناسفة، و147034 لغماً مضاداً للدبابات و6830 لغماً مضاداً للأفراد.
وأعلن مدير مشروع «مسام» لنزع الألغام في اليمن، أسامة القصيبي، أن فرق المشروع تمكنت منذ انطلاقته وحتى يوم 8 أغسطس الجاري من نزع 509612 مادة متفجرة، شملت ألغاماً وذخائر غير منفجرة وعبوات ناسفة، مؤكداً أن هذه الجهود تأتي في إطار العمل الإنساني الذي ينفذه مشروع «مسام»، بهدف حماية الأرواح وإعادة الحياة إلى المناطق المتضررة من الألغام، التي تُعد من أكبر التهديدات التي تواجه المدنيين في اليمن.
وأشار إلى أن الفرق الهندسية التابعة للمشروع تمكنت منذ انطلاقه وحتى التاريخ نفسه من تطهير أكثر من 69093218 متراً مربعاً من الأراضي اليمنية، لافتاً إلى أن العمل مستمر لتأمين المزيد من المناطق، وفتح المجال أمام الزراعة، والسكن، والتنمية.
وكان وكيل محافظة مأرب لشؤون الدفاع والأمن اللواء ناصر مبروك رقيب، ومعه قائد الشرطة العسكرية بالمحافظة العقيد ناجي منيف، ومدير عام الشؤون القانونية بالمحافظة عبدالله علي الموساي قد زاروا مقر مشروع مسام لنزع الألغام في مأرب واطلعوا على الجهود الكبيرة التي يبذلها المشروع في تطهير الأراضي اليمنية من الألغام.
وأشاروا إلى أن زراعة الألغام في المدارس والطرقات تُعد جريمة إرهابية هدفها قتل المدنيين وسفك الدماء، مضيفين أن مشروع مسام كان حائط صد أمام مخطط الحوثي، وبفضله أُمنت حياة ملايين اليمنيين، وتمكّن الكثير منهم من العودة إلى قراهم ومنازلهم بأمان، معربين عن شكرهم للمملكة العربية السعودية ولمشروع مسام وجميع منتسبيه على ما يقدمونه من جهود إنسانية كبيرة وملموسة.
وكان في استقبالهم مساعد مدير عام مشروع مسام خالد العتيبي، الذي أكد أن هذه الزيارة تعكس الدعم الرسمي والشعبي لجهود مسام منذ انطلاقه في اليمن، وهو ما أسهم بشكل كبير في نجاح مهماته.
وقال العتيبي: نأمل أن نصل قريباً إلى يمن خالٍ من الألغام، ينعم أهله بالأمن والسلام بعيداً عن مخاطرها ومآسيها.
The Masam project for mine clearance in Yemen continues its efforts to secure the lives of civilians in the liberated provinces and normalize the situation for the return of hundreds of displaced families who fled from mines and explosive devices. The Saudi project succeeded in clearing 1,140 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices last week.
The project mentioned on its account on "X" that the team has cleared 1,944 unexploded ordnance and 77 anti-tank mines from the beginning of August until the 8th, indicating that the team was able to clear 398,337 square meters of Yemeni land in one week, contributing to securing residential and agricultural areas that were under threat.
The project reported that its team managed to clear 347,498 unexploded ordnance, 8,250 explosive devices, 147,034 anti-tank mines, and 6,830 anti-personnel mines since the project's launch until August 1 of this year.
The director of the "Masam" project for mine clearance in Yemen, Osama Al-Qusaybi, announced that the project teams have managed to clear 509,612 explosive materials, including mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, from the project's launch until August 8 of this year, confirming that these efforts are part of the humanitarian work carried out by the "Masam" project, aimed at protecting lives and restoring life to areas affected by mines, which are among the greatest threats facing civilians in Yemen.
He pointed out that the engineering teams affiliated with the project have managed to clear more than 69,093,218 square meters of Yemeni land since its launch until the same date, noting that work continues to secure more areas and open the door for agriculture, housing, and development.
The Deputy Governor of Marib for Defense and Security Affairs, Major General Nasser Mabrouk Raqib, along with the Commander of the Military Police in the province, Colonel Naji Muneef, and the Director General of Legal Affairs in the province, Abdullah Ali Al-Mousai, visited the Masam project headquarters for mine clearance in Marib and were briefed on the significant efforts made by the project to clear Yemeni land from mines.
They pointed out that planting mines in schools and roads is considered a terrorist crime aimed at killing civilians and shedding blood, adding that the Masam project has been a bulwark against the Houthi scheme, and thanks to it, the lives of millions of Yemenis have been secured, allowing many of them to return to their villages and homes safely. They expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Masam project and all its members for their significant and tangible humanitarian efforts.
They were received by the Assistant Director General of the Masam project, Khalid Al-Otaibi, who confirmed that this visit reflects the official and popular support for Masam's efforts since its launch in Yemen, which has significantly contributed to the success of its missions.
Al-Otaibi said: We hope to soon reach a Yemen free of mines, where its people enjoy security and peace away from its dangers and tragedies.
