حكمت محكمة تشادية أمس (السبت) بالسجن 20 عاماً على رئيس الوزراء السابق وزعيم المعارضة سوكسيه ماسرا.
وقال محامي ماسرا إن موكله حُكم عليه بالسجن 20 عاماً بعد إدانته بنشر رسائل عنصرية ومعادية للأجانب تحرض على العنف، مضيفاً: أمرت المحكمة أيضاً موكلي بدفع غرامة قدرها مليار فرنك أفريقي (1.8 مليون دولار).
وأشار المحامي إلى أن فريقه يعتزم استئناف الحكم الذي أصدرته المحكمة في تشاد.
ويُعد رئيس الوزراء السابق من أشد المعارضين للرئيس محمد إدريس ديبي، وشغل منصب رئيس الوزراء في حكومة ديبي المؤقتة لمدة 5 أشهر تقريباً، قبل أن يترشح أمامه في انتخابات مايو 2024.
وفتح المدعي العام في تشاد تحقيقاً ضده في مايو في ما يتعلق باشتباك قُتل فيه عشرات في بلدة مانداكاو جنوب البلاد في الشهر ذاته، وكانت محكمة الاستئناف قد حكمت على إدريس يوسف بوي، المدير السابق لمكتب الرئيس التشادي محمد إدريس ديبي بالسجن 7 سنوات بتهم فساد.
وكان رجل الأعمال التشادي عبود هاشم بدر قد تقدم بشكوى ضد إدريس يوسف بوي في يناير الماضي، متهماً قريب الرئيس وصديقه بأنه اختلس خلال سنتين حوالى 9 مليارات فرنك أفريقي (نحو 16 مليون دولار) كانت مخصصة لمشاريع بنى تحتية في شرق تشاد.
ونفى إدريس يوسف بشدة تلقّي المبلغ المذكور في شكوى بدر، لكنه أقرّ بأنه «اقترض ملياراً فقط» من شركة «تشاد سيرفيس» التي يملكها صاحب الشكوى.
وفي مايو الماضي حكم على بوي بالسجن 5 سنوات وخسر الدعوى في مرحلة الاستئناف، كما حكمت المحكمة على رجل الأعمال عبود هاشم بدر بالسجن 7 سنوات بتهم فساد ورشاوى وصدرت في حقه مذكرة توقيف دولية، وفق ما قال محامي بوي، لاغير ندجيراندي.
A Chadian court sentenced former Prime Minister and opposition leader Soksyé Masra to 20 years in prison yesterday (Saturday).
Masra's lawyer stated that his client was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of spreading racist and xenophobic messages that incite violence, adding: The court also ordered my client to pay a fine of one billion African francs (1.8 million dollars).
The lawyer indicated that his team intends to appeal the ruling issued by the court in Chad.
The former Prime Minister is one of the staunchest opponents of President Mahamat Idriss Déby, having served as Prime Minister in Déby's interim government for nearly 5 months before running against him in the May 2024 elections.
The Chadian public prosecutor opened an investigation against him in May regarding a clash in which dozens were killed in the town of Mandakaw in the same month, and the Court of Appeal had sentenced Idriss Youssef Boui, the former director of the office of Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby, to 7 years in prison on corruption charges.
Chadian businessman Aboud Hashim Badr had filed a complaint against Idriss Youssef Boui last January, accusing the president's relative and friend of embezzling around 9 billion African francs (about 16 million dollars) over two years, which were allocated for infrastructure projects in eastern Chad.
Idriss Youssef strongly denied receiving the amount mentioned in Badr's complaint, but he admitted that he "only borrowed one billion" from the company "Chad Service," owned by the complainant.
Last May, Boui was sentenced to 5 years in prison and lost the case at the appeal stage, while the court sentenced businessman Aboud Hashim Badr to 7 years in prison on corruption and bribery charges, and an international arrest warrant was issued against him, according to Boui's lawyer, Laghair Ndjirandi.
