أمام الفرنسي رينارد فرصة ذهبية لاختيار الطريق الأنسب للمنتخب السعودي للوصول للمباراة النهائية لبطولة كأس العرب FIFA قطر 2025، بعد أن اتضحت معالم الأدور النهائية بتأهل منتخبات (فلسطين وسورية والأردن والعراق) برفقة المنتخب السعودي لدور الثمانية للمسابقة، إذ اختتم «الأخضر» تحضيراته لمواجهة المنتخب المغربي، في اللقاء الذي سيقام غداً على استاد لوسيل، ضمن منافسات الجولة الثالثة من دور المجموعات لبطولة كأس العرب FIFA قطر 2025.
يذكر أن منافسات كأس العرب تُلعب بنظام المجموعات، إذ تم تقسيم 16 منتخباً على 4 مجموعات ويتأهل الأول والثاني من كل مجموعة لاستكمال المشوار عن طريق نظام الأدوار الإقصائية المعتاد (ربع النهائي، نصف النهائي، النهائي).
ولجأت اللجنة المنظمة إلى تصنيف الفيفا خلال أبريل 2025، لتحديد أعلى 9 منتخبات في التصنيف العالمي، بحيث يتم توزيعها على المجموعات مباشرة، بينما يخوض 14 منتخباً عربياً ملحقاً لتصفية 7 منتخبات تتأهل إلى المجموعات.
