أعلن الجيش السوداني اليوم (الأحد) تمكنه من صد هجوم واسع النطاق شنته قوات الدعم السريع على مدينة الفاشر، عاصمة ولاية شمال دارفور، خلال الساعات الـ48 الماضية، واستهدف محورين رئيسيين في المدينة، ما أدى إلى إلحاق خسائر فادحة بالمهاجمين، بحسب بيان الجيش.
واتهمت القوات المسلحة السودانية قوات الدعم السريع باستخدام المدفعية الثقيلة والطائرات بدون طيار خلال محاولاتها اختراق الدفاعات في الجزء الشرقي والشمالي من الفاشر، مؤكدة أن الجيش نجح في تدمير عدد من المركبات المدرعة وقتل العشرات من مقاتلي الدعم السريع، بينما اضطر الباقون إلى الفرار من ساحة المعركة، في حين لم تصدر قوات الدعم السريع بياناً رسمياً يعلق على الحادثة حتى الآن.
وتُعد الفاشر، التي تستضيف أكثر من 1.8 مليون نسمة، بما في ذلك مئات الآلاف من النازحين، آخر معقل رئيسي للجيش السوداني في إقليم دارفور، وقد شهدت المدينة تصعيداً متزايداً في الهجمات منذ مايو 2024، حيث تحاول قوات الدعم السريع السيطرة عليها لتعزيز قبضتها على الإقليم الذي تسيطر بالفعل على معظم مدنه الرئيسية.
وتأتي هذه المعارك في ظل تحذيرات دولية متزايدة من كارثة إنسانية محتملة. وبحسب تقرير لمنظمة «أطباء بلا حدود» فإن ما لا يقل عن 226 شخصاً قتلوا وأصيب 1418 في الفاشر خلال الأشهر الأخيرة بسبب الاشتباكات.
وحذرت الأمم المتحدة من أن سقوط الفاشر قد يؤدي إلى «عواقب مدمرة» على السكان، خصوصاً مع وجود مخيمات نازحين مثل مخيم زمزم الذي يضم أكثر من نصف مليون شخص.
وتستمر الحرب في السودان منذ أبريل 2023 بين الجيش السوداني بقيادة الفريق أول عبد الفتاح البرهان وقوات الدعم السريع بقيادة الفريق محمد حمدان دقلو (حميدتي)، مخلفة أكثر من 20 ألف قتيل، ونزوح أكثر من 10 ملايين شخص، ودفع البلاد إلى حافة المجاعة.

The Sudanese army announced today (Sunday) that it successfully repelled a large-scale attack launched by the Rapid Support Forces on the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, over the past 48 hours, targeting two main axes in the city, which resulted in heavy losses for the attackers, according to a statement from the army.
The Sudanese Armed Forces accused the Rapid Support Forces of using heavy artillery and drones during their attempts to breach defenses in the eastern and northern parts of El Fasher, confirming that the army succeeded in destroying several armored vehicles and killing dozens of Rapid Support fighters, while the remaining forces were forced to flee the battlefield. Meanwhile, the Rapid Support Forces have not issued an official statement commenting on the incident so far.
El Fasher, which hosts more than 1.8 million residents, including hundreds of thousands of displaced people, is the last major stronghold of the Sudanese army in the Darfur region. The city has witnessed an increasing escalation of attacks since May 2024, as the Rapid Support Forces attempt to seize control of it to strengthen their grip on the region, which they already control most of its major cities.
These battles come amid increasing international warnings of a potential humanitarian disaster. According to a report by Médecins Sans Frontières, at least 226 people have been killed and 1,418 injured in El Fasher in recent months due to the clashes.
The United Nations warned that the fall of El Fasher could have "devastating consequences" for the population, especially with the presence of displaced persons camps such as the Zamzam camp, which houses more than half a million people.
