The devastating war and the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip dominated the discussions of four Arab foreign ministers on the sidelines of the "Two-State Solution" conference held in New York.

A statement from Egypt indicated that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Jordan's Ayman Safadi, and Qatar's Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on the sidelines of the high-level international conference for the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The statement noted that the meeting exchanged views on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the joint Egyptian-Qatari efforts with the United States to resume the ceasefire, release hostages and prisoners, prevent bloodshed among the Palestinian people, and ensure the urgent and unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The Arab ministers discussed the next steps for implementing the Arab-Islamic plan for early recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and preparing for the Cairo International Conference for Reconstruction in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.

According to the Egyptian statement, the meeting reflected the consensus in views and unity of positions among the four countries, and the desire to exert more joint efforts to find political and diplomatic solutions to the crises plaguing the region. The ministers also agreed to continue consultations and coordination among themselves to achieve common interests and support regional security and stability.
