بيان ثلاثي: دعم مسار الانتقال السياسي في سورية

The United States, France, and Syria agreed in a joint statement to cooperate in efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the transitional phase in Syria and its unity and territorial integrity.

The three countries agreed on the necessity of ensuring that Syria's neighbors do not pose a threat and that Syria does not pose a threat to its neighbors.

Following talks in Paris that brought together Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot, and U.S. envoy Thomas Barak today (Friday), the statement

noted that the meeting was held "at a pivotal moment for Syria," amidst an atmosphere characterized by dialogue and a strong commitment to de-escalation. The parties agreed on the need to engage quickly in substantive efforts to ensure the success of the transition process in Syria, which guarantees the unity, stability, and sovereignty of the country over its entire territory.

The three countries pledged to cooperate jointly to combat terrorism in all its forms and to support the capabilities of the Syrian state and its institutions to address security challenges. They emphasized support for the Syrian government in the political transition it is leading, aimed at achieving national reconciliation and enhancing social cohesion, particularly in northeastern Syria and the Sweida Governorate.

The meeting participants agreed to hold a round of consultations between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces in Paris as soon as possible to fully implement the agreement of April 10.

The statement welcomed efforts aimed at holding accountable those responsible for acts of violence, and welcomed, in this context, the outcomes of transparent reports, including the recent report from the independent national committee tasked with uncovering and investigating the events that occurred on the Syrian coast.

The parties confirmed that the neighboring countries do not pose any threat to Syria's stability, while also reaffirming Syria's commitment not to pose a threat to the security of its neighbors, in order to maintain the stability of the entire region.
