بعد مطاردة استمرت أشهرًا عبر الحدود، تمكنت الشرطة الإسبانية من إلقاء القبض على أحد أخطر المطلوبين لدى السلطات السويدية، في عملية أمنية قرب مدينة برشلونة، أنهت تحركات رجل يُشتبه في تورطه بسلسلة من الجرائم العنيفة.
وأعلنت وزارة الداخلية الإسبانية، الاثنين، أن السلطات ألقت القبض على المشتبه به في بلدة سيتجيس الساحلية، الواقعة على بعد نحو 30 كيلومترًا من برشلونة، بعد عملية مراقبة استمرت عدة أيام.
وقالت الوزارة إن الرجل مطلوب لدى القضاء السويدي، ويواجه اتهامات بالضلوع في نحو 20 جريمة عنف، من بينها جرائم قتل، مشيرة إلى وجود شبهات حول دوره في تنظيم هجمات وتدريب شبان على تنفيذ عمليات اغتيال، إضافة إلى تزويدهم بالأسلحة.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن التحقيقات المشتركة بين السلطات الإسبانية والسويدية بدأت منذ يونيو 2025، قبل أن تقود المتابعة الأمنية إلى تحديد مكان وجوده والقبض عليه.
كما كشفت وزارة الداخلية الإسبانية أن المشتبه به تربطه صلات وثيقة بشخصية إجرامية سويدية معروفة بلقب «بابلو إسكوبار السويد»، وهو لقب مستوحى من اسم تاجر المخدرات الكولومبي الشهير الراحل بابلو إسكوبار.
After a months-long chase across borders, the Spanish police managed to arrest one of the most dangerous wanted individuals by Swedish authorities in a security operation near Barcelona, ending the movements of a man suspected of being involved in a series of violent crimes.
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior announced on Monday that authorities arrested the suspect in the coastal town of Sitges, located about 30 kilometers from Barcelona, after several days of surveillance.
The ministry stated that the man is wanted by the Swedish judiciary and faces charges of involvement in around 20 violent crimes, including murders, noting suspicions about his role in organizing attacks and training young people to carry out assassinations, in addition to supplying them with weapons.
The police clarified that joint investigations between Spanish and Swedish authorities began in June 2025, before security monitoring led to identifying his location and arresting him.
The Spanish Ministry of the Interior also revealed that the suspect has close ties to a well-known Swedish criminal figure nicknamed "the Swedish Pablo Escobar," a name inspired by the late Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.
