The media office in the Gaza Strip revealed today (Friday) that the number of children who have died due to malnutrition has risen to 69, and the number of deaths due to lack of food and medicine has reached 620, amid the intensification of famine and the prevention of aid distribution in humanitarian ways.
The office clarified in a statement that today marks 139 days since the complete closure of all crossings into the Gaza Strip by the occupation, preventing the entry of 76,450 trucks of humanitarian aid and fuel. It pointed out that 42 food kitchens have been targeted as part of the starvation policy, along with 57 centers for distributing aid and food.
The office accused the Israeli occupation army of targeting aid convoys and humanitarian shipments 121 times, indicating that the number of aid-related deaths has reached 877, with more than 5,666 injured and 42 missing.
The office noted that there are 650,000 children at risk of death due to malnutrition and hunger, 12,500 cancer patients facing death and in need of treatment and food, and 60,000 pregnant women at risk due to the lack of healthcare and food, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for this.
The government media office in Gaza called on the international community and countries around the world to take urgent action to stop the starvation policy and save what remains of innocent lives being exterminated in front of the eyes and ears of the world, emphasizing the necessity of opening the crossings, breaking the siege, and allowing aid to enter immediately and urgently.
Meanwhile, the European Commission stated that it is working to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip through the United Nations and other organizations, not through the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and alleviating the suffering of civilians in the region.
For its part, the Palestinian Network of Non-Governmental Organizations announced that the Gaza Strip is currently experiencing the worst stages of the humanitarian disaster as a result of the starvation policy being implemented by the Israeli occupation.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza stated that unprecedented numbers of citizens of all ages are arriving at emergency departments in cases of exhaustion due to hunger, indicating that hundreds of those who have become emaciated will be at risk of certain death due to hunger and exceeding their bodies' ability to endure.
