قتل 8 مدنيين في قصف لقوات الدعم السريع على مخيم «أبو شوك» للنازحين في غرب السودان، وبحسب غرفة طوارئ معسكر أبو شوك فإن القصف استهدف المخيم الذي يستضيف عشرات الآلاف من النازحين على أطراف الفاشر عاصمة دافور المحاصرة التي يعاني سكانها من الجوع.
وأفادت الغرفة في بيان أن المخيم شهد قصفاً مدفعياً عنيفاً الخميس من قبل قوات الدعم السريع بقذائف ثقيلة ما أسفر عن مقتل 8 أشخاص، مؤكدة تدمير عدد من المنازل في المخيم.
ويأتي الهجوم بعد أيام على هجمات أخرى نفّذتها قوات الدعم السريع على قرى في شمال كردفان أسفرت عن مقتل المئات بينهم أطفال ونساء.
وتشهد مدينة الفاشر التي تعد آخر معقل رئيسي للجيش في إقليم دارفور في غرب السودان خارج سيطرة قوات الدعم السريع هجمات متواصلة من قوات الدعم السريع.
من جهة أخرى، حذر مكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية من أن النزوح القسري للسكان في ولاية شمال دارفور بالسودان يهدد بانتشار مرض الكوليرا الذي تفاقمت حالات تفشيه في الآونة الأخيرة، مبينة أن النقص الحاد في التمويل، يحرم الفئات الأكثر ضعفاً في السودان. وأشارت إلى أن موسم الأمطار الحالي في البلاد يهدد بتفاقم تفشي الأمراض.
في غضون ذلك، جدّد رئيس لجنة الاستنفار والمقاومة الشعبية بمحلية مروي اللواء ركن وداعة الخير، الدعوة إلى الشباب وكل القادرين على حمل السلاح للانخراط في معسكرات التدريب، مطالباً مساندة الجيش السوداني في المعارك ضد قوات الدعم السريع، بحسب وكالة الأنباء السودانية «سونا».
وأشار إلى أن هناك هدوءاً للأوضاع الأمنية بكافة الأرجاء المحلية، مشدداً على ضرورة رفع الحس الأمني والإبلاغ الفوري عن أي مهددات أمنية، مع تجنب ترويج الشائعات وتداول الأخبار المضللة.
Eight civilians were killed in an attack by the Rapid Support Forces on the "Abu Shouk" displacement camp in western Sudan. According to the Abu Shouk camp emergency room, the shelling targeted the camp, which hosts tens of thousands of displaced people on the outskirts of El Fasher, the besieged capital of Darfur, where residents are suffering from hunger.
The room reported in a statement that the camp experienced intense artillery shelling on Thursday by the Rapid Support Forces using heavy shells, resulting in the deaths of 8 people and confirming the destruction of several homes in the camp.
This attack comes days after other assaults carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on villages in North Kordofan, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds, including children and women.
The city of El Fasher, which is considered the last major stronghold of the army in the Darfur region of western Sudan outside the control of the Rapid Support Forces, is witnessing continuous attacks from the Rapid Support Forces.
On another note, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs warned that the forced displacement of populations in North Darfur, Sudan, threatens the spread of cholera, which has seen a recent increase in outbreaks. It indicated that the severe funding shortfall is depriving the most vulnerable groups in Sudan. It also noted that the current rainy season in the country threatens to exacerbate the spread of diseases.
Meanwhile, the head of the mobilization and popular resistance committee in the Merowe locality, Major General Wadaa Al-Khair, renewed the call for young people and all those capable of bearing arms to join training camps, urging support for the Sudanese army in battles against the Rapid Support Forces, according to the Sudanese News Agency "SUNA."
He pointed out that there is calm in the security situation across all local areas, emphasizing the need to raise security awareness and report any security threats immediately, while avoiding the spread of rumors and misleading news.
