رحبت وزارة الخارجية السورية اليوم (الأربعاء)، بالجهود المبذولة من قبل الأطراف الأمريكية والعربية الرامية إلى تسوية الأزمة الراهنة في جنوب سورية «بطريقة سلمية».
ونقلت قناة «الأخبارية» السورية عن بيان لوزارة الخارجية قولها: «في إطار الجهود المبذولة لخفض التصعيد والحد من التوترات في الجنوب السوري، والعدوان الإسرائيلي على سورية، تعرب وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيبها بالجهود المبذولة من قبل الأطراف الأمريكية والعربية الرامية إلى تسوية الأزمة الراهنة بطريقة سلمية»، مؤكدة جاهزية سورية للتعاون مع جميع الأطراف المعنية التي تسعى إلى التهدئة وتحقيق الاستقرار، شريطة أن تكون هذه الجهود قائمة على الاحترام الكامل لسيادة الدولة السورية، وتوافق إرادة الشعب السوري.
وجاء بيان وزارة الخارجية السورية بعد تصريحات للمتحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية تامي بروس، اليوم، في مقابلة أجرتها معها قناة «فوكس نيوز» قالت فيها: «ندعو الحكومة السورية إلى سحب قواتها للسماح لجميع الأطراف بالتوصل إلى خفض التصعيد».
وكانت وزارة الصحة السورية قد قالت إنه عُثر اليوم على عشرات الجثث داخل مستشفى السويداء في جنوب البلاد، بعد انسحاب المجموعات الخارجة عن القانون من المستشفى، وبحسب وكالة الأنباء السورية (سانا) فإن الجثث التي عُثر عليها تعود لعناصر من قوات الأمن والمدنيين.
في غضون ذلك، جددت إسرائيل قصف الضاحية الغربية لدمشق، مساء اليوم.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed today (Wednesday) the efforts made by American and Arab parties aimed at resolving the current crisis in southern Syria "in a peaceful manner."
The Syrian news channel "Al-Ikhbariya" reported a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs saying: "In the context of efforts to de-escalate and reduce tensions in southern Syria, and the Israeli aggression against Syria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its welcome to the efforts made by American and Arab parties aimed at resolving the current crisis peacefully," emphasizing Syria's readiness to cooperate with all concerned parties seeking to calm the situation and achieve stability, provided that these efforts are based on full respect for the sovereignty of the Syrian state and align with the will of the Syrian people.
The statement from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs came after remarks by U.S. State Department spokesperson Tami Bruce today in an interview with "Fox News," in which she said: "We urge the Syrian government to withdraw its forces to allow all parties to achieve de-escalation."
The Syrian Ministry of Health had reported that dozens of bodies were found today inside the Sweida Hospital in southern Syria, after lawless groups withdrew from the hospital. According to the Syrian news agency (SANA), the bodies found belong to security forces and civilians.
Meanwhile, Israel renewed its bombardment of the western suburbs of Damascus this evening.
