The Lebanese Parliament will convene tomorrow (Tuesday) for a public discussion session, the first of its kind since the formation of the government amidst political tensions that go beyond procedural matters to touch on strategic issues such as the exclusivity of arms and the response to Israeli escalation.

Although the stated goal of the session is to hold the government accountable for its performance after more than 5 months since it assumed its duties, the actual agenda goes beyond that to address the core of the Lebanese division regarding the future of Hezbollah's arms and the authority of security decisions in the country.

In this context, informed sources told "Okaz" that parliamentary blocs will engage in a frank discussion about the demand to hand over arms, with a clear parliamentary trend to present this issue as a national priority that cannot be postponed, alongside rising calls to set a timeline to limit arms to the state. Meanwhile, other blocs are preparing to defend the "legitimacy of these arms."

In addition to the arms issue, the accountability will cover topics related to administrative appointments, the fate of stalled reforms, and government measures to address financial and service crises. However, most attention remains focused on what will be raised regarding the arms issue and whether the session will produce the beginning of a new political path or simply result in the usual exchange of accusations.
