تعرّضت سفينة لهجوم بالأسلحة والقذائف الصاروخية في البحر الأحمر قبالة سواحل محافظة الحديدة اليمنية. وبحسب هيئة عمليات التجارة البحرية البريطانية فإن فريقاً أمنياً مسلحاً على متن السفينة رد بإطلاق النار.
ورغم أنه لم تعلن أي جهة مسؤوليتها عن الهجوم إلا أن الهيئة أكدت أن الوضع لا يزال مستمراً والسلطات تجري تحقيقاً حول الحادثة.
وأشارت الهيئة إلى أن السفينة تعرّضت لهجوم من قوارب صغيرة عدة أطلقت النار عليها، باستخدام أسلحة صغيرة وقذائف، على بعد 51 ميلاً بحرياً جنوب غربي الحديدة باليمن، داعية السفن المارة في المنطقة إلى توخي الحذر والإبلاغ عن أي أنشطة مشبوهة.
من جهتها، قالت هيئة أمن بحري إن المياه تسرّبت إلى ناقلة نفط تعرضت لهجوم قبالة السواحل اليمنية.
في الوقت ذاته تدهور وضع السفينة التجارية المستهدفة قبالة سواحل مدينة الحديدة اليمنية اليوم، وذكر المركز البريطاني للتجارة البحرية (UKMTO) أن المياه قد بدأت تتسرب إلى داخل السفينة المتضررة، ما دفع الطاقم للاستعداد لإخلائها.
من جهة أخرى، أدان وزير الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة اليمني معمر الإرياني بأشد العبارات جريمة القرصنة البحرية الجديدة، متهماً الحوثيين بتنفيذها واستهداف سفينة الشحن التجارية «ماجيك سيز» التي ترفع العلم الليبيري والمملوكة لليونان، قبالة سواحل محافظة الحديدة في البحر الأحمر.
وأكد الإرياني أن الاعتداء يعد انتهاكاً صارخاً للقوانين والأعراف الدولية وتهديداً مباشراً لأمن الملاحة البحرية والتجارة العالمي، موضحاً أن التقارير تفيد بأن الهجوم بدأ بمحاولة اختطاف السفينة عبر إطلاق نار وقذائف «آر بي جي» من ثمانية قوارب صغيرة، تصدى لها أفراد الأمن على متن السفينة، قبل أن يصعّد الحوثيون من هجومهم باستخدام أربعة زوارق مسيّرة مفخخة، اصطدم اثنان منها بجانب السفينة، ما أدى إلى اندلاع حريق على متنها وإلحاق أضرار بحمولتها، وإجلاء طاقمها لاحقاً وسط مخاوف من غرقها نتيجة الأضرار التي لحقت بها.
وأشار إلى أن هذه الجريمة النكراء تؤكد من جديد أن الحوثي لا يلتزم بأي من تعهداته، ويواصل تحركه كأداة تخريبية هادفة لزعزعة أمن واستقرار المنطقة وتقويض الملاحة الدولية وابتزاز المجتمع الدولي لتحقيق أهداف توسعية. ولفت الوزير إلى أن الهجوم يجدد التذكير بأن استمرار سيطرة الحوثي على أجزاء من الشريط الساحلي اليمني تشكل تهديداً خطيراً ومستداماً لأمن الملاحة والتجارة العالمية، وخطوط إمدادات الطاقة التي تمر عبر البحر الأحمر وباب المندب وخليج عدن، وتضع أمن واستقرار المنطقة والعالم على المحك، مؤكداً أن تأمين خطوط الملاحة البحرية، وحماية الأمن البحري الإقليمي والدولي، لا يمكن تحقيقه إلا عبر استعادة الدولة سيطرتها الكاملة على الشريط الساحلي وكامل الأراضي اليمنية، وإنهاء الانقلاب الحوثي.
ودعا الإرياني المجتمع الدولي للشروع في تصنيف الحوثيين منظمة إرهابية عالمية، أسوة بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وعدد من الدول، وتجفيف منابع تمويلها، وملاحقة قياداتها، وتقديم الدعم الكامل للحكومة الشرعية لاستعادة سيطرتها على كافة الأراضي اليمنية، كمسار وحيد لإنهاء هذا الخطر، وضمان الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي والدولي.
ويأتي الهجوم وسط مخاوف من عودة القرصنة إلى البحر الأحمر من قبل جماعة الحوثي، التي هاجمت سفناً عدة في البحر الأحمر خلال العام الماضي، لكن بعد الاتفاق مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أوقفت تلك الهجمات بوساطة عمانية.
A ship was attacked with weapons and rocket shells in the Red Sea off the coast of Al Hudaydah Governorate in Yemen. According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations, an armed security team on board the ship responded by firing back.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the agency confirmed that the situation is ongoing and authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
The agency indicated that the ship was attacked by several small boats that opened fire on it, using small arms and shells, 51 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah in Yemen, urging passing vessels in the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities.
For its part, the Maritime Security Agency stated that water has leaked into an oil tanker that was attacked off the Yemeni coast.
At the same time, the condition of the targeted commercial ship off the coast of Al Hudaydah city in Yemen deteriorated today, and the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that water had begun to seep into the damaged ship, prompting the crew to prepare for evacuation.
On another note, Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar Al-Eryani strongly condemned the new act of maritime piracy, accusing the Houthis of carrying it out and targeting the commercial cargo ship "Magic Seas," which flies the Liberian flag and is owned by Greece, off the coast of Al Hudaydah Governorate in the Red Sea.
Al-Eryani confirmed that the attack is a blatant violation of international laws and norms and a direct threat to maritime navigation and global trade, explaining that reports indicate that the attack began with an attempted hijacking of the ship by firing shots and "RPG" shells from eight small boats, which were countered by security personnel on board the ship, before the Houthis escalated their attack using four explosive drones, two of which collided with the side of the ship, causing a fire on board and damaging its cargo, leading to the evacuation of the crew later amid fears of it sinking due to the damage inflicted.
He pointed out that this heinous crime reaffirms that the Houthis do not adhere to any of their commitments and continue to act as a destructive tool aimed at destabilizing the security and stability of the region, undermining international navigation, and extorting the international community to achieve expansionist goals. The minister noted that the attack serves as a reminder that the continued Houthi control over parts of the Yemeni coastline poses a serious and sustained threat to the security of maritime navigation and global trade, as well as the energy supply lines that pass through the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden, putting the security and stability of the region and the world at risk. He emphasized that securing maritime navigation lines and protecting regional and international maritime security can only be achieved by restoring the state's full control over the coastline and all Yemeni territories and ending the Houthi coup.
Al-Eryani called on the international community to begin classifying the Houthis as a global terrorist organization, similar to the United States and several other countries, to dry up their funding sources, pursue their leaders, and provide full support to the legitimate government to regain control over all Yemeni territories, as the only path to end this threat and ensure regional and international security and stability.
The attack comes amid fears of a resurgence of piracy in the Red Sea by the Houthi group, which attacked several ships in the Red Sea last year, but those attacks were halted following an agreement with then-President Donald Trump, mediated by Oman.
