أعلن علي لاريجاني، مستشار المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي، اليوم (الأحد)، أن إسرائيل هددته بالقتل خلال الحرب التي استمرت 12 يوماً بين البلدين في حال لم يغادر البلاد، موضحاً أنه تلقى اتصالاً طلب منه المغادرة فوراً.
قال لاريجاني في كلمة تلفزيونية: في الحرب الأخيرة اتصلوا بي وقالوا لي لديك 12 ساعة لمغادرة البلاد وإلا سنقتلك، مضيفاً: كان هناك تصور لدى إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة في هذه الحرب أن الشعب سيتخلى عن الحكومة عند أول فرصة.
وأشار إلى أن كل ما كان يسعى إليه رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو هو استسلام الشعب الإيراني، مضيفاً: كان من المقرر أن تُنهي أمريكا وإسرائيل النظام خلال خمسة أو ستة أيام.
ولفت إلى أن إسرائيل كانت قد أعدّت سلسلة من العمليات لتفكيك النظام الإيراني، مشدداً بالقول: «أمريكا استخدمت المفاوضات لشن عمليات عسكرية في إيران».
وحول إعلان أمريكا تدمير منشأة فوردو النووية قال لاريجاني:«دعهم يفرحون».
في غضون ذلك، نقلت صحيفة «واشنطن بوست» اليوم عن أربعة أشخاص مطلعين على معلومات مخابرات سرية متداولة داخل الحكومة الأمريكية، أن اتصالات إيرانية جرى اعتراضها تضمنت أحاديث تقلل من حجم الأضرار التي سببتها الضربات الأمريكية على البرنامج النووي الإيراني، مضيفة: سُمع كبار المسؤولين يقولون إن الضربة الأمريكية على إيران كانت أقل تدميراً مما كان متوقعاً.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام غربية فإن هناك تساؤلات جدية بشأن ما إذا كان المسؤولون الإيرانيون صادقين، ووصفت عمليات التنصت بأنها مؤشرات غير موثوقة رغم أن الرئيس الأمريكي يؤكد أن الاستهداف ربما عطل إيران بضعة أشهر فقط ومحا تماماً البرنامج النووي الإيراني.
وأقر مسؤولون أمريكيون أن الأمر سيستغرق بعض الوقت للوصول إلى تقييم كامل للأضرار الناجمة عن الضربات العسكرية في مطلع الأسبوع الماضي.
ونفى البيت الأبيض صحة التقرير الذي نشرته الصحيفة، ونقلت «واشنطن بوست» عن المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض كارولاين ليفيت قولها «فكرة أن مسؤولين إيرانيين لم تُكشف أسماؤهم يعرفون ما حدث تحت مئات الأقدام من الأنقاض هي محض هراء، لقد انتهى برنامجهم للأسلحة النووية».
Ali Larijani, an advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, announced today (Sunday) that Israel threatened to kill him during the 12-day war between the two countries if he did not leave the country, explaining that he received a call asking him to leave immediately.
Larijani said in a televised speech: In the recent war, they called me and said you have 12 hours to leave the country or we will kill you, adding: There was a perception among Israel and the United States in this war that the people would abandon the government at the first opportunity.
He pointed out that all Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought was the surrender of the Iranian people, adding: The plan was for America and Israel to dismantle the regime within five or six days.
He noted that Israel had prepared a series of operations to dismantle the Iranian regime, emphasizing: "America used negotiations to launch military operations in Iran."
Regarding America's announcement of the destruction of the Fordow nuclear facility, Larijani said: "Let them rejoice."
Meanwhile, the Washington Post reported today that four people familiar with classified intelligence information circulating within the U.S. government stated that intercepted Iranian communications included discussions downplaying the extent of the damage caused by American strikes on the Iranian nuclear program, adding: Senior officials were heard saying that the American strike on Iran was less destructive than expected.
According to Western media, there are serious questions about whether Iranian officials are being truthful, describing the eavesdropping as unreliable indicators, even though the U.S. president asserts that the targeting may have only delayed Iran's program by a few months and completely wiped out the Iranian nuclear program.
U.S. officials acknowledged that it will take some time to reach a full assessment of the damage caused by the military strikes earlier last week.
The White House denied the accuracy of the report published by the newspaper, and the Washington Post quoted White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt saying, "The idea that unnamed Iranian officials know what happened under hundreds of feet of rubble is sheer nonsense; their nuclear weapons program is over."
