Retired Major General in the occupying army, Isaac Brik, revealed that the Israeli military institution is facing an unprecedented crisis, warning that Israel is close to losing its ability to continue the war, and that its image as a deterrent force in the region is rapidly eroding.
Brik considered that the army, which has long presented itself as the strongest army in the Middle East, has so far failed to free the captives and eliminate Hamas, adding, "Soon we will become a subject of ridicule before the world."
He confirmed that the army is primarily bombing Palestinian citizens, which undermines the effectiveness of its military operations and increases international criticism.
He predicted that Israel would soon have to discharge reserve soldiers and give regular soldiers a break, given the declining economic capacity to operate the war machine, as he described it. He said that the truth will be revealed to the world, and we will not be able to hide the failure for long.
The retired general warned that the erosion of Israeli deterrence will encourage its adversaries on the borders to prepare for future confrontations, pointing out that "the captives are dying inside the tunnels in Gaza, and many of our soldiers will be killed and injured because of leaders who have lost their way."
He accused the political and military leadership in Israel of being concerned only with "personal and political survival," and that they are "leading the people towards collective suicide."
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 180,000 Palestinians killed or injured, most of whom are children and women, over 11,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced and a famine that has claimed many lives, including children, along with widespread destruction.
