أجرى الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع، اليوم (الأحد)، خلال زيارة رسمية للكويت، مباحثات مع أمير الكويت الشيخ مشعل الأحمد الجابر الصباح.
ونقلت وكالة أنباء الكويت عن وزیر شؤون الدیوان الأمیري الشیخ محمد عبدالله المبارك الصباح، قوله إن جلسة المباحثات تناولت العلاقات الأخویة التي تجمع البلدین وسبل دعمھا وتنمیتھا في المجالات كافة، مبيناً أنه جرى التأكيد على أھمیة ترسیخ التعاون الثنائي بین البلدین وتوسیع أطره بما یخدم مصالحھما المشتركة، وبحث مستجدات الأوضاع في سوریة والتأكید على تعزیز جھود المجتمع الدولي لضمان أمن واستقرار سوریة وصون سیادتھا ووحدة أراضیھا.
وذكرت الوكالة أن اللقاء شهد بحث أھم القضایا ذات الاھتمام المشترك، وسبل دعم مسیرة العمل العربي الموحد، وآخر المستجدات على الساحتين الإقليمية والدولیة.

في الوقت ذاته، التقى الرئيس السوري أحمد الشرع بالنائب الأول لرئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية الشيخ فهد يوسف الصباح، بمقر إقامته.
وتكتسب الزيارة أهمية خاصة في مسيرة العلاقات الكويتية-السورية، إذ تجري خلالها مباحثات رسمية، تأكيداً لموقف دولة الكويت الثابت والداعم لسورية وشعبها ووحدتها وسيادتها على كامل أراضيها.
وذكرت وكالة الأنباء الكويتية أن العلاقات الدبلوماسية الكويتية-السورية، التي انطلقت رسمياً في 24 أكتوبر عام 1963، وشهدت نوعاً من الانقطاع بين عامي 2012 و2024، بسبب ما شهدته سورية طوال تلك السنوات، عادت في 30 ديسمبر الماضي، لتشهد تطوراً مهماً وجديداً، حين زار وزير الخارجية الكويتي عبدالله اليحيا العاصمة السورية بصفته رئيس المجلس الوزاري لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، في خطوة تعكس التزام دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي بدعم الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
واستضافت الكويت اجتماعاً استثنائياً لوزراء خارجية دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، يتناول العديد من الملفات الراهنة التي تشهدها المنطقة، وعلى رأسها التطورات في سورية. ووفقاً للوكالة، فإنه في اليوم ذاته انطلقت من الكويت أولى رحلات الجسر الجوي الهادف إلى مساعدة السوريين والذي جاء انطلاقاً من الدور الإنساني الرائد لدولة الكويت في دعم الأوضاع الإنسانية للشعب السوري، وتجسيداً لتضامن الشعب الكويتي مع إخوانهم في سورية، والحرص على الإسهام في تخفيف معاناة المحتاجين هناك.
Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara conducted discussions today (Sunday) during an official visit to Kuwait with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Kuwait News Agency reported that the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, stated that the session of discussions addressed the fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them in all fields. He indicated that there was an emphasis on the importance of consolidating bilateral cooperation between the two countries and expanding its frameworks to serve their common interests, as well as discussing the latest developments in Syria and affirming the need to enhance international community efforts to ensure the security and stability of Syria and to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The agency mentioned that the meeting included discussions on the most important issues of mutual interest, ways to support the unified Arab action, and the latest developments on both the regional and international fronts.

At the same time, Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara met with the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Yusuf Al-Sabah, at his residence.
The visit holds special significance in the course of Kuwaiti-Syrian relations, as it involves official discussions, reaffirming Kuwait's steadfast position in support of Syria and its people, and its unity and sovereignty over its entire territory.
The Kuwait News Agency reported that diplomatic relations between Kuwait and Syria, which officially began on October 24, 1963, experienced a period of interruption between 2012 and 2024 due to the events that Syria faced during those years. However, they resumed on December 30 of last year, witnessing an important and new development when Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya visited the Syrian capital as the Chairman of the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, reflecting the commitment of GCC countries to support security and stability in the region.
Kuwait hosted an extraordinary meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, addressing many current issues in the region, primarily the developments in Syria. According to the agency, on the same day, the first flights of the air bridge aimed at assisting Syrians were launched from Kuwait, stemming from Kuwait's leading humanitarian role in supporting the humanitarian situation of the Syrian people, and embodying the solidarity of the Kuwaiti people with their brothers in Syria, as well as the commitment to contribute to alleviating the suffering of those in need there.
