رفعت الحكومة اليابانية عقوباتها جزئيًا عن سورية، بعدما وافق مجلس الوزراء الياباني في اجتماعه اليوم، حيث سيتم شطب أربعة بنوك من قائمة الأهداف التي جمّدت أصولها.
وصرح كبير أمناء مجلس الوزراء الياباني، هاياشي يوشيماسا، للصحفيين، أن القرار يرتكز على «ضرورة دعم اليابان للجهود الإيجابية في سورية، والمساعدة في تحسين حياة شعبها، مع مواكبة المجتمع الدولي».
وقال: إن «اليابان ستواصل التنسيق مع دول مجموعة السبع وغيرها من دول المجتمع الدولي لاتخاذ تدابير فعالة لتحقيق السلام والاستقرار في سورية».
The Japanese government has partially lifted its sanctions on Syria, after the Japanese Cabinet approved the decision in its meeting today, where four banks will be removed from the list of targets whose assets were frozen.
The Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, Hiroshi Hayashi, stated to reporters that the decision is based on "the necessity for Japan to support positive efforts in Syria and help improve the lives of its people, in line with the international community."
He added that "Japan will continue to coordinate with the G7 countries and other members of the international community to take effective measures to achieve peace and stability in Syria."
