أثارت مغادرة الملياردير الأمريكي إيلون ماسك منصبه في إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب الكثير من التساؤلات والتحليلات، فبعد 130 يوماً قاد خلالها إيلون ماسك «هيئة الكفاءة الحكومية»، بهدف خفض الإنفاق الفيدرالي، شاع عدم ارتياح متزايد في أنحاء الولايات المتحدة بشأن نهج ماسك القاسي في الاستغناء عن عشرات الآلاف من العاملين من القوى العاملة الحكومية، حيث تم تسريح نحو 260 ألف موظف، وعانى مشرعون جمهوريون من غضب الناخبين في لقاءات واجتماعات عامة، وأصبحت جهود كثيرة لإدارة الكفاءة الحكومية محل نزاع قضائي.
وتمكن ترمب وإدارة كفاءة الحكومة من خفض القوة العاملة المدنية الاتحادية، البالغ عددها 2.3 مليون موظف، بنحو 12%، وذلك من خلال تهديدات بالفصل والإقناع بالاستقالات الجماعية وعروض تقاعد مبكر.
وأثارت أنشطة ماسك السياسية احتجاجات، ودعا بعض المستثمرين ماسك إلى ترك عمله مستشاراً لترمب وإدارة تسلا من كثب.
ودافع ماسك، أغنى رجل في العالم، عن دوره باعتباره مسؤولاً غير منتخب منحه ترمب سلطة غير مسبوقة لتفكيك أجزاء من الحكومة الأمريكية، وقال إن الناس يُحمّلون وزارة كفاءة الحكومة التي يرأسها مسؤولية جميع المشكلات في إدارة ترمب ظلماً.
وقال ماسك في مقابلة لصحيفة واشنطن بوست نُشرت في 27 مايو: «وزارة كفاءة الحكومة أصبحت كبش فداء لكل شيء. لذا، قد يحدث أمر سيئ في أي مكان، وسنُلام عليه حتى لو لم يكن لنا أي علاقة به».
وكان ماسك بعد 3 أشهر من تواجده بجوار الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب قرر التراجع خطوة إلى الوراء، بعد الضربة المالية الكبيرة التي تلقتها شركة تسلا بسبب عمله في إدارة البيت الأبيض، معلناً أنه سيقلل وقت عمله مع الحكومة الأمريكية.
وفي أول انتقاد لإدارة ترمب، كشف إيلون ماسك في وقت سابق أنه يشعر بخيبة أمل إزاء مشروع قانون ميزانية ترمب، الذي يمول أجندته القادمة، مؤكداً أن مواد القانون تقوض عمل وزارة كفاءة الحكومة.
وكان الملياردير الأمريكي إيلون ماسك، الرئيس التنفيذي لتسلا، تقدم في منشور على منصة إكس بالشكر لترمب مع قرب انتهاء فترة عمله موظفا حكوميا خاصا في إطار إدارة كفاءة الحكومة.
وكتب: «مع اقتراب انتهاء فترة عملي المجدولة كموظف حكومي خاص، أود أن أشكر الرئيس ترمب على منحي الفرصة للمساهمة في تقليص الإنفاق غير الضروري».
كما أضاف: «مهمة إدارة الكفاءة الحكومية ستزداد قوة بمرور الوقت، إذ ستصبح أسلوب حياة في قطاعات الحكومة كافة».
وتنتهي فترة عمل ماسك كموظف حكومي في أواخر مايو الجاري.
وكان ترمب قد كلف حليفه ماسك بقيادة جهود إدارة الكفاءة الحكومية في خفض الإنفاق الحكومي وإعادة تشكيل الجهاز الحكومي الاتحادي.

Trump and the Government Efficiency Office managed to reduce the federal civilian workforce, which numbers 2.3 million employees, by about 12%, through threats of dismissal, persuasion for mass resignations, and early retirement offers.
Musk's political activities sparked protests, and some investors urged him to leave his advisory role to Trump and manage Tesla closely.
Musk, the richest man in the world, defended his role as an unelected official granted unprecedented authority by Trump to dismantle parts of the U.S. government, stating that people unfairly blame the Government Efficiency Office he heads for all the problems in the Trump administration.
Musk said in an interview with The Washington Post published on May 27: "The Government Efficiency Office has become the scapegoat for everything. So, something bad can happen anywhere, and we will be blamed for it even if we have no connection to it."
After three months of being alongside President Donald Trump, Musk decided to take a step back following the significant financial blow Tesla received due to his work in the White House, announcing that he would reduce his time working with the U.S. government.
In his first criticism of the Trump administration, Elon Musk previously revealed that he was disappointed with Trump's budget bill, which funds his upcoming agenda, confirming that the provisions of the law undermine the work of the Government Efficiency Office.
Billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, expressed his gratitude to Trump in a post on the X platform as his tenure as a special government employee in the Government Efficiency Office was nearing its end.
He wrote: "As my scheduled tenure as a special government employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President Trump for giving me the opportunity to contribute to reducing unnecessary spending."
He also added: "The mission of the Government Efficiency Office will grow stronger over time, as it will become a way of life across all sectors of government."
Musk's tenure as a government employee ends in late May.
Trump had tasked his ally Musk with leading efforts in the Government Efficiency Office to reduce government spending and reshape the federal government apparatus.
