في أول زيارة له إلى روسيا منذ تنصيبه رئيساً لمجلس القيادة الرئاسي اليمني، وصل الرئيس اليمني الدكتور رشاد محمد العليمي اليوم (الثلاثاء) الى موسكو، تلبية لدعوة كريمة من الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين، في إطار العلاقات الثنائية المتينة بين البلدين.
وكان في استقبال رئيس مجلس القيادة في مطار فونكوفو، نائب وزير الخارجية الروسي سيرغي فيرشينين، وسفير الجمهورية اليمنية لدى روسيا الاتحادية احمد سالم الوحيشي، واعضاء السفارة، وبحسب وكالة الأنباء اليمنية «سبأ» فإن العليمي سيجري خلال الزيارة مباحثات مع نظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، تتناول سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية، وتنسيق المواقف إزاء عدد من القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وفي مقدمتها تطورات الملف اليمني، وجهود إحلال السلام، والأمن الإقليمي والدولي.

وأشارت الوكالة إلى أن من ضمن برنامج الزيارة لقاءات مع عدد من كبار المسؤولين في مجلس الدوما والحكومة الروسية، والفعاليات السياسية والدبلوماسية، والفكرية المهتمة بالشأن اليمني وموروثه الثقافي، والحضاري.
وأشاد رئيس مجلس القيادة الرئاسي بالعلاقات الثنائية العريقة بين البلدين التي يعود تاريخها إلى نحو قرن من الزمان، والحرص المشترك على توسيعها وتعزيزها في مختلف المجالات، معرباً عن تقديره لموقف روسيا الثابت إلى جانب الشعب اليمني، وقيادته الشرعية، ودعم تطلعاته في استعادة مؤسسات الدولة، والأمن والاستقرار، والسلام.

وأعرب الرئيس اليمني عن ثقته في أن تفتح هذه الزيارة آفاقاً أوسع من التعاون والتنسيق المثمر لما فيه مصلحة الشعبين والبلدين الصديقين.
During his first visit to Russia since his appointment as President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Yemeni President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi arrived today (Tuesday) in Moscow, in response to a gracious invitation from President Vladimir Putin, as part of the strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
At the Vnukovo Airport, the President of the Leadership Council was welcomed by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Russian Federation Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi, and members of the embassy. According to the Yemeni news agency "Saba," Al-Alimi will hold discussions during the visit with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, addressing ways to enhance bilateral relations and coordinate positions on several issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the developments in the Yemeni file, efforts for peace, and regional and international security.

The agency noted that part of the visit's program includes meetings with several senior officials in the State Duma and the Russian government, as well as political, diplomatic, and intellectual figures interested in Yemeni affairs and its cultural and civilizational heritage.
The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries, which date back nearly a century, and the mutual commitment to expand and strengthen them in various fields, expressing his appreciation for Russia's steadfast position alongside the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership, and supporting their aspirations to restore state institutions, security and stability, and peace.
