أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (السبت)، أنه سيتحدث هاتفياً مع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين صباح (الاثنين) القادم، بشأن وقف حمام الدم، وذلك في إطار المساعي لوقف إطلاق النار في أوكرانيا.
وكتب ترمب في منشور على منصته «تروث سوشيال»: سأتحدث مع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين في العاشرة من صباح الاثنين، وسيكون موضوع المكالمة هو وقف حمام الدم، الذي يقتل في المتوسط 5000 جندي روسي وأوكراني أسبوعياً، مضيفاً: سأتحدث إلى الرئيس الأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي بعدها، وبعدها سأتحدث مع عدة قادة من حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو).
وأعرب ترمب عن أمله في أن يكون «يوماً مثمراً»، وأن يتم التوصل إلى وقف للنار، وأن تنتهي هذه الحرب العنيفة للغاية، الحرب التي لم يكن يجب أن تحدث.
وكانت وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية قد قالت إن الوزير ماركو روبيو تحدث هاتفياً مع نظيره الروسي سيرجي لافروف، وأكد دعوة الرئيس ترمب لوقف فوري لإطلاق النار، ووضع حد للعنف.
وكتب روبيو على منصة «إكس»، أكرر رسالة ترمب بضرورة توقف الموت والدمار، مشدداً بالقول: قدمت الولايات المتحدة خطة سلام قوية، ونرحّب باتفاق تبادل أسرى الحرب الذي تم التوصل إليه في إسطنبول، دعونا لا نُفوّت هذه الفرصة الكبيرة، لقد حان وقت إنهاء هذه الحرب.

واشترط المفاوضون الروس على كييف، خلال المحادثات التي استقبلتها إسطنبول، سحب جميع قواتها من المناطق الأوكرانية الأربع التي انضمت إلى الاتحاد الروسي، قبل الموافقة على وقف إطلاق النار، وبحسب ما ذكر مسؤول أوكراني مطلع على المحادثات فإن المحادثات بين مسؤولين روس وأوكرانيين استغرقت ساعة وأربعين دقيقة، وأفضت إلى اتفاق لتبادل ألف أسير حرب من كل جانب، دون تحديد موعد لذلك.
وذكر المصدر الأوكراني إن مفاوضي موسكو طالبوا بانسحاب القوات الأوكرانية من مناطق دونيتسك وزابوريجيا وخيرسون ولوجانسك في أوكرانيا، على أن يطبق وقف إطلاق النار بعد ذلك، مشيراً إلى أن هذا الطلب وغيرها تتجاوز شروط مسودة اتفاق السلام، التي اقترحتها الولايات المتحدة الشهر الماضي بعد مشاورات مع موسكو.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced today (Saturday) that he will speak by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the morning of the upcoming (Monday) regarding stopping the bloodshed, as part of efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine.
Trump wrote in a post on his platform "Truth Social": I will talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin at 10 AM on Monday, and the topic of the call will be stopping the bloodshed, which is killing an average of 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers weekly. He added: I will speak to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky afterwards, and then I will talk with several leaders from NATO.
Trump expressed hope that it would be a "productive day," and that a ceasefire would be reached, and that this extremely violent war, which should never have happened, would come to an end.
The U.S. State Department had stated that Secretary Marco Rubio spoke by phone with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, confirming President Trump's call for an immediate ceasefire and an end to the violence.
Rubio wrote on the platform "X," I reiterate Trump's message that death and destruction must stop, emphasizing: The United States has presented a strong peace plan, and we welcome the prisoner exchange agreement reached in Istanbul. Let’s not miss this great opportunity; it is time to end this war.

Russian negotiators conditioned Kyiv, during the talks hosted in Istanbul, to withdraw all its forces from the four Ukrainian regions that joined the Russian Federation before agreeing to a ceasefire. According to an Ukrainian official familiar with the talks, discussions between Russian and Ukrainian officials lasted one hour and forty minutes, resulting in an agreement to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war from each side, without specifying a date for that.
The Ukrainian source mentioned that Moscow's negotiators demanded the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Luhansk regions in Ukraine, with the ceasefire to be implemented thereafter, noting that this demand and others exceed the terms of the peace agreement draft proposed by the United States last month after consultations with Moscow.
