Some people think that tourism means traveling from one country to another, from one capital to another, sleeping during the day, staying out late at night, and moving between cafes, restaurants, and bars, without being aware of the importance of the place they are in, nor caring about the time spent there, which is wasted without relationships or sufficient information about the nature of people and life and the daily identity of the locals in the countries they visit. Often, the listener is captivated by the daily life of a tourist in awe, as they go and return just as they went.
Tourism has become a culture that is now taught, with workshops held and training courses established, as it strengthens relationships, facilitates cultural exchange, and represents the morals of a society and a nation that express themselves with sincerity, honesty, and respect for systems, along with a passion for learning about etiquette, arts, architecture, religions, and daily customs, and acquiring new knowledge experiences. This is the stronghold and the core of the tourism idea.
Some travel and spend money on superficialities, while the essence is to master the culture of spending, set a budget, and calculate the returns from every amount spent on food, drink, or nightlife. Tourism is not about imitating the wealthy, nor is it about boasting and pretense, but rather it has noble goals that include recreation and entertainment; the world is full of breathtaking views, historical archaeological sites, museums, factories, exhibitions, festivals, and folklore.
It is a national and moral duty, first and foremost, for citizens to get to know their homeland, visit its regions, and enjoy the blessings that are not available everywhere, including security, spiritual tourism in the two holy mosques, and the moderate climates on the peaks of Al-Sarawat. The most significant thing a person gains from internal tourism is the friendships and social relationships that affirm that the people of our nation are one fabric. Additionally, the money you spend on tourism in your homeland does not make you feel deprived; it is money among its people, and money among its people is always returned with goodness.
