شهدت منطقة العطارين بوسط الإسكندرية (ثاني أكبر مدن مصر بعد القاهرة)، صباح اليوم (الأحد)، انهيار عقار سكني مكون من دور أرضي و4 أدوار علوية، إضافة إلى جزء من الدور الخامس، مما أسفر عن وفاة شخص وإصابة 6 آخرين، وفقًا للبيانات الأولية الصادرة عن محافظة الإسكندرية.
وهرعت الأجهزة الأمنية والتنفيذية إلى موقع الحادثة بشارع الخديوي، ناصية شارع صلاح الدين، بنطاق حي وسط، لبدء عمليات رفع الأنقاض والبحث عن مفقود يُعتقد أنه شخص مسن محاصر تحت الركام.
انتقل محافظ الإسكندرية اللواء أحمد خالد، على الفور إلى موقع الانهيار، برفقة قيادات مديرية أمن الإسكندرية، وقوات الحماية المدنية، ورئيس حي وسط، وعدد من المسؤولين التنفيذيين.
وتمّت الاستعانة بمعدات ثقيلة، بما في ذلك لودر، لتسريع عمليات رفع الأنقاض وتسهيل البحث عن المفقودين، كما تم نقل المصابين إلى مستشفيات المدينة لتلقي العلاج اللازم، وتتابع السلطات حالتهم الصحية عن كثب.
وأوضحت محافظة الإسكندرية، في بيان رسمي، أن العقار يقع على مساحة تقدر بحوالى 300 متر مربع، ويضم 6 وحدات سكنية إلى جانب عدد من الأنشطة التجارية في الدور الأرضي.
وكشف رئيس حي وسط أن العقار كان قد صدر بشأنه قرار هدم رقم 103 لسنة 1993، يقضي بهدم الدور الرابع والجزء الخاص بالدور الخامس، مع ترميم باقي العقار، إلا أن تنفيذ القرار لم يكتمل.
وأكد المحافظ استمرار عمليات رفع الأنقاض حتى الانتهاء منها بالكامل، مع تقديم الدعم الطبي والإنساني للمتضررين، كما وجه بتشكيل لجنة هندسية متخصصة لمراجعة ملف العقار، بهدف التحقيق في أسباب الانهيار وتقييم سلامة المباني المجاورة، وشدد على ضرورة اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات اللازمة؛ لضمان عدم تكرار مثل هذه الحوادث في المستقبل.
ووفقًا لمصادر رسمية من محافظة الإسكندرية، تم إخلاء المنطقة المحيطة بالعقار المنهار كإجراء احترازي، مع تخصيص فرق طبية وإغاثية لدعم الأسر المتضررة.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن التحقيقات الأولية تشير إلى احتمال وجود خلل هيكلي في المبنى، خصوصًا مع وجود قرار هدم سابق، مما يستدعي مراجعة شاملة للوائح البناء والصيانة في المنطقة.
وأثارت الحادثة مخاوف المواطنين في منطقة العطارين، التي تُعد من أكثر المناطق ازدحامًا بالإسكندرية، إذ تضم العديد من المباني القديمة التي تحتاج إلى صيانة دورية، وطالب سكان المنطقة السلطات بتشديد الرقابة على العقارات القديمة وتنفيذ قرارات الهدم والترميم بشكل عاجل لتجنب تكرار مثل هذه الكوارث.
The Attarin area in central Alexandria (the second largest city in Egypt after Cairo) witnessed the collapse of a residential building consisting of a ground floor and 4 upper floors, along with part of the fifth floor, resulting in the death of one person and the injury of 6 others, according to initial data released by the Alexandria Governorate.
Security and executive agencies rushed to the scene of the incident on Khedive Street, at the corner of Salah El-Din Street, within the Central District, to begin debris removal operations and search for a missing person believed to be an elderly individual trapped under the rubble.
The Governor of Alexandria, Major General Ahmed Khaled, immediately went to the site of the collapse, accompanied by leaders from the Alexandria Security Directorate, civil protection forces, the head of the Central District, and several executive officials.
Heavy equipment, including a loader, was utilized to expedite the debris removal operations and facilitate the search for the missing individuals. The injured were also transported to city hospitals for necessary treatment, with authorities closely monitoring their health conditions.
The Alexandria Governorate clarified in an official statement that the building occupies an area estimated at about 300 square meters, containing 6 residential units in addition to several commercial activities on the ground floor.
The head of the Central District revealed that a demolition order numbered 103 for the year 1993 had been issued regarding the building, mandating the demolition of the fourth floor and the part of the fifth floor, while restoring the rest of the building; however, the implementation of the order was not completed.
The governor confirmed that debris removal operations would continue until fully completed, along with providing medical and humanitarian support to those affected. He also directed the formation of a specialized engineering committee to review the building's file, aiming to investigate the causes of the collapse and assess the safety of neighboring buildings, emphasizing the need to take all necessary measures to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
According to official sources from the Alexandria Governorate, the area surrounding the collapsed building was evacuated as a precautionary measure, with medical and relief teams allocated to support the affected families.
Sources indicated that preliminary investigations suggest a possible structural defect in the building, especially given the previous demolition order, which necessitates a comprehensive review of building and maintenance regulations in the area.
The incident has raised concerns among citizens in the Attarin area, which is one of the most densely populated areas in Alexandria, as it contains many old buildings that require regular maintenance. Residents have called on the authorities to tighten oversight on old properties and urgently implement demolition and restoration orders to avoid repeating such disasters.
