التقى وزير السياحة أحمد بن عقيل الخطيب، في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، وزيرة السياحة في مملكة البحرين فاطمة بنت جعفر الصيرفي، على هامش أعمال منتدى بوابة الخليج 2025.
وبُحثت خلال اللقاء سبل تطوير التعاون السياحي بين المملكتين، وتفعيل مذكرة التفاهم بشأن الترويج للمملكتين إقليمياً ودولياً كوجهة سياحية واحدة، وتعزيز زخم نمو القطاع السياحي لدى المملكتين الشقيقتين، بما يسهم في تحقيق الأهداف الطموحة في زيادة مساهمة هذا القطاع في التنمية الاقتصادية.
وأشارت الصيرفي إلى أن اللقاء يأتي في إطار مساعي مملكة البحرين لترسيخ التكامل السياحي الخليجي، وتوحيد الجهود الرامية إلى تقديم المنطقة وجهة سياحية موحدة على الخريطة العالمية، وتعزيز آفاق الشراكة من خلال إطلاق باقات سياحية مبتكرة والترويج المشترك، بما يسهم في تعزيز السياحة البينية.
من جانبه نوه الخطيب بما حققته البحرين من إنجازات بارزة في مجال تطوير البنية التحتية السياحية وتنظيم الفعاليات الدولية الكبرى، مشيداً بمستوى التنسيق القائم بين البلدين الشقيقين في تطوير المبادرات والمشاريع التي تسهم في تعزيز القطاع السياحي الخليجي.
Tourism Minister Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb met in the Bahraini capital, Manama, with the Minister of Tourism of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Sairafi, on the sidelines of the Gulf Gateway Forum 2025.
During the meeting, ways to develop tourism cooperation between the two kingdoms were discussed, activating the memorandum of understanding regarding the promotion of both kingdoms regionally and internationally as a single tourist destination, and enhancing the momentum of growth in the tourism sector of the two sister kingdoms, contributing to achieving ambitious goals in increasing the sector's contribution to economic development.
Al-Sairafi pointed out that the meeting comes as part of Bahrain's efforts to establish Gulf tourism integration and unify efforts aimed at presenting the region as a unified tourist destination on the global map, and enhancing partnership prospects through the launch of innovative tourism packages and joint promotion, which contributes to boosting intra-regional tourism.
For his part, Al-Khateeb praised Bahrain's notable achievements in developing tourism infrastructure and organizing major international events, commending the level of coordination between the two sister countries in developing initiatives and projects that contribute to enhancing the Gulf tourism sector.
